I don't know if the World of Reel bloke has any real studio contacts or if he just makes stuff up but this is what he said below.

https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2026/1 ... ll-in-play
Over the weekend, I reached out to my strongest 007 source to ask about these latest rumors, and it turns out there is some truth to them — but, as usual, The Daily Mail is over-reporting what is so far not a done deal. Yes, Callum Turner has caught the attention of Villeneuve and Amazon/MGM, and yes, he is due for a screen test in the coming weeks, but he still hasn’t nabbed the role. Not even close. My source continues to maintain that Jacob Elordi remains in the mix as another potential candidate.
Callum Turner. :picard:

To be honest, there's no candidate out of the current names who makes me think that they were born to play Bond the way people like Henry Cavill or Aidan Turner did. But Elordi, based on what little I've seen of him, would be my preferred choice out of the front-runners.

I agree, Elordi looks much more like Bond than Callum Turner. The main quibble with Elordi would be his height as he's 6'5. He's quite gangly and would look comically tall with the Bond girls. I suppose there might be ways to mitigate that onscreen.

From the shortest Bond to the tallest. Maybe they could have him tortured on a rack in the opening scene.

Image Elordi should be the next Edward Cullen from Twilight, not James Bond!

Image. Image Moron Pascal should pick one of these two already, cut out this reboot with a baby Bond, and get going with the next film! It is not a hard choice, but an easy one, and Broccoli and Pascal have screwed it up! Image Image If Pascal is reading this thread, WAKE UP and get it right!

I explicitly said that Turner or Cavill would be preferable, but the producers have said they want someone in his late 20s or early 30s, who can play Bond for15-20 years, so it won't be them. I would prefer Elordi to the other people named as possible front runners, but I hold out some faint hope that they might find some unknown who hasn't been named yet, but who is absolutely perfect for the role. It's not likely, but it could happen.

I think part of the problem is that most of my judgements are based on still images. I haven't seen these people in anything. Most of them are such weird-looking Mr Potatoheads that I'll be relieved if they pick someone who rises to the level of acceptable. I mentioned Connor Swindells earlier, but that wasn't based on a photograph, that was based on seeing him in an episode of SAS Rogue Heroes and thinking that he had that "charming killer" quality that would make him right for Bond.

The waste that has occurred over the past decade is unreal from EON, and Amazon has to get going and they are dragging their feet as well. Let the group here cast the next film. We will get it correct. DB will write the script and the rest of can direct it.

I don't think the current delays under Amazon are comparable to the inertia under EON at all. It's caused by specific things, mostly waiting for their director to become free. But they have hired a director, and a writer, and appear to be screen testing actors. It's not like Babbzy constantly being two years away from doing anything.

The Disney live-action remakes are bound to get around to Toy Story eventually.

Thank you for your vote of confidence, but a writer I am not. Then again neither were Pervis & Wade and they wrote on the series for over a quarter century so there's that.

Fan service, key jangling, "shipping" and all manner of homages, winks, nods and references to the much better material to have come before.

It depends..I’ve been in fandoms where shipping was an accepted thing. But there was a small segment of people that didn’t care for it.To each their own.

For the Bond fandom..I can already predict it that it would be very divisive.
