Not to be a pessimist but Bond as we knew and loved him is long dead and buried. Best to make piece with this now and possibly be somewhat pleasantly surprised if something of merit ever spews forth from the bowels of modern Bond.

This is suggesting we're in for a woke fest with an anti-gun Bond movie.

Doesn’t suggest that to me. I don't like making predictions, but I give it a week before those posters are changed back.

Yeah, they can bring back the old posters but the problem is, it doesn't remove the mentality that caused this BS in the first place. The tactic showed the quality of the mentality that's now running the Bond franchise. That's how you read this situation.

We are where we are, we've got a franchise being run by decision-makers made up of Ivy League-indoctrinated boneheads. Makes me wonder what else they're thinking of doing to this franchise. Wouldn't surprise me if this woke management applauded what Eon had already done in Craig's reign. I barely made it through the last one, No Time To Digest, as DirtyBenny fittingly calls it, where they revealed a gay Q, subverting the old code name, making us wonder if it stands for "queer" now. They also threw in a black woman who appropriated the 007 code name. Then Craig's Bond actually implied in Skyfall he's had gay encounters. What Eon did is so far gone from the spirit of the classic series, and I get the feeling Amazon is willing to drive it all over a cliff without knowing that's what they're doing because what matters to them is their ideology.

Yeah, my impression as well. Reminds of the time they removed all the guns from the E.T. film and replaced them with walkie talkies, only more ridiculous. At least E.T. was a kids film, Bond is Guns, Girls and Gadgets. If you're too delicate to see a gun on a poster I can't image the shock you'll feel watching the bloody film!

I very much doubt that the people responsible for putting thumbnail images on Amazon Prime are the same people who get to make creative decisions regarding the next film.

You have half a point Kris. Sure these folks are probably not involved with the new Bond production, but they aren't a bunch of interns operating out of a broom closet either. This speaks to the overall corporate culture, this didn't happen in a vacuum, about a year ago someone on a Zoom call told Babz she "didn't think Bond was a hero." Now to be fair she may have been referring to the Craig-Bond, to which I say welcome to the club. We also have the reference to Bond as "content" which set off Babz and initiated the buy out.

I guess what I'm saying is, sure this one thing in and of itself isn't much, but it is one more pebble amongst the others on the beach.

These studios are always editing images for promotion. They did a bunch of edits to the 60th images normally to build Craig up and diminished the previous bonds in some way.

Maybe in the wake of assassinations and how sensitive the left and right are right now in this country maybe some underling had the thought that maybe “cold advertisements” shouldn’t be holding a gun.

By cold I mean. If it’s just random ad that’s that popups in Amazon I kInd of get it. If it’s bond movie oriented, people looking for the series, I do not.

But like I said studio promotions always edit these images. Not worried yet, but paying attention.

I'm seeing reports that the original art has been restored.
