Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Goldeneye knows his onions and the website is back in business and updated to counter the MI6-HQ website for the future discussions and no more Cr-egg, as the 7th 007 actor should be announced shortly as well and Broccoli can stuff herself with the family vegetables as she turns 65 and disappears into oblivion with her hibernating half brother as well. Good riddance! As Dr. Zaius said to Taylor at the end of Planet Of The Apes in 1969, "do not look for it Taylor.....you may not like what you find"........that MIGHT be the case with Pascal and Heyman but let us give them at least a CHANCE to get this correct and bring Bond back to his glory days! We shall see soon enough.

As BJ pointed out we’ve known each other almost 20 years. Through some pretty marginal Bond films(and Bond).

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I know internet opinion is not necessarily public opinion, but I am sensing a distinct consensus forming among the fans of "excited about Heyman, definitely not excited about Pascal." But trying to be positive, it might not be a bad thing to have someone in the new regime who has worked on Bond films before.acid wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:40 pm I hope not given Pascal's background is superhero movies and Heyman's is fantasy and magic. On the face of it that doesn't look like a great recipe for exciting but vaguely plausible action flicks set in the real world.

Thank you to those responsible for getting the site back up to par!
As to Pascal, it's out of the frying pan with Babz and into the fire with Pascal. If you'll recall Babz was singing her praises and lamenting the loudest when Pascal was ash canned by Sony. It was also Pascal Babz was emailing back and forth during the creative discussions surrounding SPECTRE as revealed with the Sony leaks. Still, I keep my expectations low and they can only be surpassed, things couldn't be any worse under Babbzy.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Pascal checks somebody in hollywoods box. She may be a Kathleen Kennedy hire where the previous rights hold has a favorite they’d like in the job supervising the new crew. Who’s knows other than pascal and Babs were close.
However one thing we do know about her is she can get out of the way and let other producers and directors work , then swoop in to take the credit . See Spider-Man no way home . So maybe her ego will allow her to collaborate in a way Babs wouldn’t

Heyman I think people have fond memories of his film series. To me the fantasy nature is irrelevant. It’s the fact he could produce eleven films which maintains a recognizable British flavor and constant quality to these movie worlds. It’s a lot art, Babs films are all over the place in tone and world content. If you try to put Craig’s movies together as a movie arc of connected stores you’ll get a headache trying to get the logic behind all the random contradictory stuff Babs stuffed in to those movies.
I’d loved this dynamic duo to succeed and make a dozen early Connery era quality movies . Just to have pascal mark catty comments about how Babs wasn’t a real producer .

It is hard to believe we have been together that long and we all here have appreciated the opportunity to discuss Bond, and purge Nash, and say farewell to ALE and FBF, and occasionally say hello to the Sweeney whenever he decides to pop in! The REBIRTH of this marvelous forum has begun!kater23 wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 5:29 pm As BJ pointed out we’ve known each other almost 20 years. Through some pretty marginal Bond films(and Bond).

Ah,Nash..a name I WISH I could forget. He’s been banished back to MI6 where he’s using his moderator powers where he actually has them(for what,I’m not sure.)
I do wish Sweeney would make more appearances. His takes on the state of Bond are 100%.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
During an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, he commented: "No-one's spoken to me about it. I've heard all of the rumours. Listen, they know where to find me. Let's see where the wind takes us." Pierce seemed content with his past achievements and not eager to chase the role again, saying: "It's going to be another man's job. I'm not looking to go there. I'm quite happy with my career. I've done it, it was wonderful. Delightful kind of notion to contemplate."

I could see an alternate wild version of bond giving pierce brosnan and Dalton a chance to do an older take on their bond, kind of Liam Neeson or equalizer style action film , it could work as one off series. But they have to get bond rehabilitated first . Babs left the series half dead in a ditch.

I really don’t know if it’s this website or the Tapatalk app. Tapatalk is kind of flaky. But if you can fix it or tell me how to fix my settings I’d be gratefulbjmdds wrote:Goldeneye, fix Tapatalk for the big O!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Dalton played the villain in the 1923 Yellowstone prequel as a sadistic rich land baron for several episodes until in ended. Broccoli ended the franchise with her final killing off of Bond and she KNEW she was done. You don't say you need 2 years to FIGURE OUT where they wanted to go next! Nonsense! She wanted her dough and she got it, $500 MILLION worth! She buried Cubby's franchise and MAYBE Amazon can resurrect it for the better.Omega wrote: Fri Mar 28, 2025 1:10 am I could see an alternate wild version of bond giving pierce brosnan and Dalton a chance to do an older take on their bond, kind of Liam Neeson or equalizer style action film , it could work as one off series. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yes, I think the initial shock of the franchise being sold led people to ignore just how spotty and inconsistent Broccoli's track record really was. She basically produced only 2 films in the past 20 years that are considered to be any good. If we're being generous we could credit her and Wilson with 3 within the past 30. Are we really supposed to believe Amazon couldn't manage similar odds? At the very least, we might finally return to the tradition of fans getting a new Bond film on a regular basis.Omega wrote: Fri Mar 28, 2025 1:06 amBabs films are all over the place in tone and world content. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I always got the impression what Broccoli really wanted was to essentially cast the Craig version of Lazenby- someone who resembled Craig enough that audiences could pretend it was still the same 007. I remember quite a few remarks that rumored contenders like Tom Hiddleston or Jamie Bell could conceivably pass for a younger Craig. So Craig honestly may have done us all a favor by insisting they kill off that whole insufferable timeline!bjmdds wrote: Fri Mar 28, 2025 3:24 amDalton played the villain in the 1923 Yellowstone prequel as a sadistic rich land baron for several episodes until in ended. As for 1923, not only is Dalton a fantastic villain in that role but his underling Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) actually reminds me of Craig...if Craig was a better actor, of course!

Dalton knocks it out of the park in most of his roles . Including hot fuzz .
I’ve wanted Jason Isaacs for bond or m for years, he was the successor to Dalton in my mind . I think he too old now but he’s a solid actor , solder, the patriot and avatar he been a favorite for awhile. In Star Trek discovery he’s incredible
