It had to be done. Broccoli was stalling and wanted no part of any future with the franchise. For better hopefully, with no woke instilled, or worse, we shall see. Expect a new Bond within 6 months, if that long, and a new film every 3 years going forward with Amazon in charge.

YouTuber Pentex Productions has edited Henry's audition tape into the scene from Goldeneye it was taken from, though you have to sit through about 10 minutes of waffle to get to it: https://youtu.be/aCjplOX2xsc?si=Mmzcc-Kv2tLhYGoe

Sigh. It's bad enough that we've had years of fake news stories about how so-and-so is on the verge of being announced as the next Bond, but it's about to get a whole lot worse. I just saw my first fake spin-off story, about how Florence Pugh is to star in an adaptation of The Moneypenny Diaries. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, and I can think of worse ideas for spin-offs, but the passive voice "it is being reported", and the timing of the story, when the ink has barely dried on the contract handing over full control to Amazon, means I don't believe it.

Saw that too Kris. Absolute rubbish and they wonder why there is a distrust of media now a days! Pugh is way too on the nose as the supposed star of the series with her taking over the Black Widow mantle. Click bait all the way!

well the whole thing is feeling more and more like a new production. Out with the old and all that. It's Amazon's company now. I was looking for more info on this Amazon takeover and stumbled on this article, from a rag called Daily Mail. The casting director Debbie McWilliams quit. I got into Bond because of my dad, uncle, and grandfather. So I've seen her name in the books they have on the production of the series.
Acclaimed casting director Debbie McWilliams, who has cast the last 13 Bond films – bringing Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig to the role – has quit after the creative control of the movies was sold to Amazon.
She had worked with Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson for more than 40 years.
She told the film bible Screen International: 'I wish everyone the best of luck and hope the transition can be relatively painless. But it won't be the same.'
Yeah wont be the same. Won't surprise me if more people from the old days of Eon will quit. They're probably feeling the sweep of the grim reaper so they'll be jumping ship. We'll see, but it is a freaking takeover. Amazon is gonna clean house. It's their baby now. I've been through company buy-outs and the new owner eventually whacks the "old" staff.

Here's the article. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... -davi.html

Jeffrey R. Bezos Presents Amazon Prime's James Bond 007 in...
Or maybe something like this:

Amazon MGM Studios
and
Albert R. Broccoli's Eon Productions
present
[actor's name] as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007

Wouldn't surprise me if the father's name is attached. The Broccoli family probably stipulated something like that. I'm just speculating.

Sad to see such a long-standig name in the Bond world go, but she did leave with a parting shot about a poll on Teitter not being the best way to cast Bond, which suggests that she might have been an obstacle to casting Henry as Bond, So it's not all bad news.

They just cannot leave well enough alone in Hollywood: John Lithgow is the first actor to be confirmed for the Harry Potter TV show's cast. It's possible that he wasn't supposed to share this news just yet given how quiet HBO has been on casting reports thus far, but it speaks to how development on the series is going behind the scenes. The show is currently targeting a release in late 2026 or early 2027, and HBO has confirmed that filming on the episodes will begin in summer 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the U.K.

I think a lot depends on the casting of the three juvenile leads. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint may not be anyone's idea of great actors, but they had tremendous chemistry between them, which I think was a large part of the original films' popularity,

The 97th Academy Award will once again honour the 007 series with a special medley of James Bond title song music at the Oscars this weekend. Verity reports that the ceremony will perform a special tribute of the iconic songs of the Bond franchise at Sunday’s event in honour of longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who received Honorary Oscars (the Thalberg Award) at the past Governors Awards. According to sources, "the tribute will include what is being described as an assembly of surprising and immense talents."-------does this ridiculous adulation for Broccoli ever end? Not sure if she's really being an obstacle to the Cavill casting. I read it more as an effort to make her profession relevant. I mean, if casting is gonna be done through polls on X/twitter, then casting directors will be out of work.

Agreed. One last hurrah for the Eon camp as it basically fades away from the Bond film world. Could be also a reckoning with Bezos. Bow down to the new leader, kiss-the-ring of the godfather kind of thing.

I've been going through some old articles that my uncle has. So right around 2005, Brosnan was going around pointing out that the next film (eventually Casino Royale) was in limbo. He called it a paralysis that Eon was going through. My uncle said he got criticized for that. The irony is, it was obviously true. Eon goes through periods where they dont't know what to do with the series. We saw that after No Time To Die, things dragged on in limbo until this Amazon takeover. I saw a recent article where it stated Barbara Broccoli got tired of fighting the Amazon brass so she gave in. Yeah, she surrendered for the big payout and because she has no idea what to do with the series. Paralysis strikes again.

Absolutely, now that she's not making Bond, she'd nobody. Especially once her non-Bond flops start hitting theaters. Every film she's made out side of Bond has failed to claw back half their budgets. Give it a year and even you BJ will have forgotten her name.

The deadlock was attributed to Broccoli's protection of the secret agent including suggestions by Amazon executives for Christopher Nolan, the director of Oppenheimer, in directing a Bond film. She is also said to have made clear no director could have control over the film's final cut of which she was at the helm, according to Variety..........she was 'hoist on her own petard' and bought out. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... eader.html
