About time. Glad we no longer have to refer to it as Bond 22.

Let the games begin!
They could have named Bond 22 "Quantum of Solace", "Quando Quando Quando","Quantum Mechanics", "Quantas Airlines", or anything else, but it will still be "The Bourne Mimicry" to me. They are planning another tedious and uninspiring plot, while Bond searches his inner soul over revenge for Vesper. Factor in a Michelle Yeoh kiss-ass sidekick type , and you get one heck of a renegade Bond flick. Craig ,as usual, comes off sour faced and sad in the clips. Dench looks like she will be more of a 'mothering' character than M to Bond. Heck, they just named the film 3 days ago to go along with Forster's and Haggis' perception that the public craves this type of storyline. If this is what Eon believes the public wants, they might be in for a rude awakening. No Bond title song with such a name will ever be a hit as well. The title is more fit for a Star Trek film, or a physicists convention. By the way, Harry Potter has surpassed Bond as the number one box office franchise of all time and the fact that it opens just 14 days after the "Quantum of why Craig is Bond" will most definitely affect it's performance. Casino Royale's title has style;this film's title will be misunderstood by the masses. Stocks, NO WAY this film tops CR in the USA, maybe not even in the UK. By the way, watching Craig swing on the ropes brought to mind another role he would be perfect to play: TARZAN. There will be more than a Quantum of Solace here after Craig departs the role of Bond.

When i heard that the title of the film was to be called 'Quantom of Solace', i first thought WHAT the hell does that mean, i had to go and look it up in a dictionary, and its still not very clear.
I can see why the producers went for it, as its a Fleming title, but what does it have to do with the film, and i'am sure that they only used it because they were dithering to come up with a name themselves.
Can't wait to see how the words are put in a title song, if at all.
Well never mind, i'am sure we'll have got used to it by November......but what a very awkward name for a film.
It reminds me of another weird film title 'Bonfire of the Vanities'!
As on another post, i think it should of been called 'A quantity of Sausages', at least everyone would no what it means.

With a title like this, we may get another OHMSS, and NO singer, just music, or Octopussy with All Time High? Imagine trying to sing such a song if they included the actual title in the lyrics? Just imagine Quantum Of Solace sung to the music of All Time High:"all I wanted was a sweet distraction, in a Quantum of Solace"......

Really, I don't care what they call it though, I don't intend to ever see it.
I did not see Casino Royale when it came out, and I didn't buy it or rent it either. But a friend of mine who did buy it only to then hate it once he saw it, gave me his copy. I watched it once, and I've had zero interest in watching it a second time. Since Craig is still going to be "Bond" in this next film, I don't have any interest in watching it even if someone offered me a free copy of it.

I'm with you there. Other Craig critics on this forum will watch it and his newer Bonds - I think they are more generous than I am! But he was so awful as Bond. I sometimes think "he can't have been that bad", then I see a clip from Casino Royale on the television and I realise why I disliked Craig's Bond so much. I loved Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan so much and always thought it was lucky that they had not cast a Bond I disliked. Then they (well Barbara) cast Daniel Craig as a young Bond in that rather muddled film. What a waste. I have no interest in seeing it again. It doesn't seem like a Bond film. Maybe if he only made two, I could look look back at the Craig era as a kind of curio, safe in the knowledge that they were making proper James Bond films again for me to enjoy. But as the last normal Bond film was back in 2002 and Craig looks set to make ten more films every two years, I find the prospect of watching his Bond films very depressing indeed.Eye Of The Tiger wrote:Too true.tiswas wrote:Well I need solace after seeing DC murder the franchise.![]()

I was a HUGE BOND FAN from the time that I became fan at the age of 11 which was back in 1983 all the way up until they dumped Pierce Brosnan. I still love the first 20 Bond films, and I'm sure I always will, although it may take some more time before I can watch them again without feeling bitter about the current state of "Bond."carl stromberg wrote:I'm with you there. After Roger Moore left I was happy with Dalton, after Dalton I was happy with Brosnan, and of course before all of them Sean Connery was great. And all things considered Lazanby did a pretty good job.
I knew that Daniel Craig was a bad choice from the start, and then once I saw Casino Royale I knew that he was even worse than I expected.
As long as Daniel Craig is "Bond" I am done with Bond.
Daniel Craig is at least signed to play "Bond" for so many more films that I doubt I'll ever be able to get back into the series even after he's gone?
James Bond retired after DAD as far as I'm concerned.
