Bond to be gay...
According to the interview with Daniel Craig published in polish newspaper 'Dziennik' in 'Bond 22' "Bond will be interested in a man". Craig explains: 'I think that we live in such a time, that fans will be able to accept homosexuality even for agent 007' He also adds: 'It's gonna be much funnier Bond. Producers plans more gags and humor in 'Octopussy' style. Something completely different than 'Casino Royale'.

If this is true then it's a sad day for Bond fansMoore wrote:According to the interview with Daniel Craig published in polish newspaper 'Dziennik' in 'Bond 22' "Bond will be interested in a man". No, it's a big and serious paper. The interview was held by Dziennik's journalist Mariola Wiktor . Craig also express there his feelings about Bond fans. 'When I hear a question like <<do you prefer shaken or stirred?>> I really want to punch such a person in his face.' Not very friendly, don't you think?

(yawwwn)....This sounds like 2006 all over again.
Sloppy journalism at best - rehashing old stories from 06. Gutter journalism at worst - making things up for the sheer hell of it.
Since when did this Polish paper suddenly become famously renowned, ground-breaking, and first for exclusive interviews??
Abysmal.....

My guess is that it wasn't held at all. The journalist simply went through her file of other people's yellow journalism, cobbled a few made-up quotes together and tried to pass it off as her own work.Moore wrote:It was held by the time, when 'The invasion' - Craig's newest movie starts to be showed in the cinemas (THIS year).

Yup!Moore wrote:So there's no real interviews, but only compilations, following your way of thinking...
These pathetic compilations were started way before even CR came out (trash like Bond being gay, etc.)
...and was Bond gay in CR? No! He may not have been Bond in CR (depending on your opinion), but he was definitely not gay.
And the supposed humour rumour for Bond 22 has already been put to bed too - ages ago.

Yesterday must have been Resurrect an Old Hoax Day. I got a copy of the "Bill Gates is giving away his fortune" e-mail forwarded to me by a co-worker. I had no idea that thing was still knocking about. Must have been a 10th anniversary reissue or something.

The sad thing is that Craig's Bond(or even M) whether rumour or not, is probably headed in this direction to push the envelope in this ridiculous 21st century Jerry Springer/Maury Povich mindless mentality mode that appeals to the lowest common denominators of society. Mark my words, IF the day comes when Bond turns gay, I will throw out my entire collection of videos and have absolutely nothing to do with this franchise, as I suggest millions will follow suit as well. You would NEVER hear any of the prior 5 actors who portrayed Bond even consider such a ludicrous suggestion for Bond;however, with Craig, he has NO clue what Bond is all about and had to first read CR after getting the role!
You've never heard Craig consider it either, except in made-up newspaper "interviews". Here in the reality-based community, we like to have supporting evidence before getting angry over directions that the Bond series is "probably" going to take.bjmdds wrote:You would NEVER hear any of the prior 5 actors who portrayed Bond even consider such a ludicrous suggestion for Bond;
I mean, seriously folks, I though this site had moved on from the days when we reported rubbish like this as fact. Is all the hard work that I and others have done to reclaim some credibility for this site after it got indelibly stamped in the public consciousness as "the site that made up the 'Craig wants a gay Bond' story" the first time round (somewhat unfairly, IMO, since the story originated on contactmusic.com and this site only reported it) going to be flushed down the drain on the basis of a single lazy journalist with a deadline to fill?

And bj, I'm suprised at you thinking Craig wants Bond to be gay. These kind of bullsh!t rumour stories are beneath you, mate. This is all yesterday's kindergarden gossip, nothing more.
And Craig read CR on the train on the way to an audition to play Bond. Nothing wrong with that, is there?
I'd like to know if Brosnan read a Bond novel before he was picked to play Bond. The only reference he made was watching Goldfinger as a kid at the cinema (over and over again). I don't recall any interviews with him saying he picked up a Bond novel before he was picked to play Bond...

I've heard all of this before... All except the new quote.
but I wouldn't find it hard to believe they might attempt this if they think they are loosing their edginess or whatever. Why were they playing whit the idea of a Gay M ? I think it's in play, part of list of ideas that has been shelved with the Black Bond and female Bond.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

Don't know about before, but yeah, probably. He had years of being on the back burner waiting his turn. It never came up because nobody question his ability to be Bond. The Sweeney wrote: I'd like to know if Brosnan read a Bond novel before he was picked to play Bond. He may be the only actor to have read all of the Fleming's books. Dalton may have come to think of it. Brosnan did mention reading teh books and talking about CR years before it became an issue. maybe a forum know it all can give us a date for an interview where PB mentions Fleming's Books. I think it was around TND.
A gay M wouldn't bother me overmuch, provided it was a new M and not Judi Dench's M, who we already know to be married with children. There's a difference between introducing a new character who happens to be gay (I think Stephen Fry as M could work) and suddenly deciding that a character who has been hetero for 40+ years was actually gay all along.Dr. No wrote:I've heard all of this before... You misinterpret me 003. I can see things heading in that direction with Craig as opposed to the prior 5 if Eon chose to push the envelope. Will they ever do it? Unlikely, but not out of the question to throw in such a scene. Do not underestimate Eon's attempt to appeal to a new target audience with Craig, Sweeney. Crazier things have happened. After all, look what JK Rowling just said about Professor Dumbledore in the HP saga after her final book. Hollywood is not above a radical departure for Bond. The Sweeney wrote:Words of wisdowm from Kristatos.
