Fair enough. I can appreciate your comments. Anyone who wants the films closer to the novels is ok in my book....

The pro-Craig contingent have ditched their view that James Bond should not look like a male model. Many are advocating casting the likes of McAvoy, Cavill, Davenport should Craig exit the role.

I never believed Bond should look like someone from Abercrombie & Fitch. Connery and Dalton are handsome but could never pass a male model competition to save their lives. Bond should be handsome yet sharp and rugged like those two and I think Craig fits the bill. Obviously the ladies have no complaints.

At least not counting a vocal minority. :wink:

I like smaller movies so loved some of Daniel Craig's other roles such as -Hotel Spendide, The Mother..... .But he is so wrong to play James Bond. They changed Bond so much that Casino Royale was not a James Bond movie. They changed the gunbarrel. The music. The look of James Bond. James Bond's personality. This is like a new spy movie, like Bourne, or Get Smart. It's not really James Bond. James Bond is handsome and debonair with dark hair. Craig as Bond, it's like Nero Wolfe being played by Michael J. Fox. Casino Royale is an average spy movie, but dull. I hope they make Bond Bond again soon. That means a guy other than Daniel Craig playing Bond.

That television series with Timothy Hutton was good fun. I think it was too expensive to make in the end.

The political correctness brought in with Brosnan (and Dalton) was not as bad as the "dumb jock" Craig Bond being told how to appreciate food, drink and style by some woman.

The blog seems to be more focused on rather being anti-feminist, even though I don't see any feminist traits beside Dench's intro. He's boasting about how SPECTRE was run by men, despite the fact that women were working in SPECTRE. Hell, even curses Babs for including the torture scene. This guy clearly hasn't done his research, he was too busy looking at anything "feminist". :roll:

I think he has a point (I groaned at that "sexist, misogynist dinosaur" exchange myself), but that he devalues his case by overstating it. "Rampant homosexuality"? SPECTRE being too male? WTF?

There was one line of dialogue that could be interpreted as homoerotic. No worse than Rosa Klebb's obvious attraction to Tatiana in FRWL.

The Independent (English) newspaper did call the Craig/Green shower scene "the most homoerotic scene in the history of British cinema".

Admittedly there was no Oliver Reed style wrestling in front of a fire!

I roll my eyes everytime someone think Craig pulling a Ursula Andress is homoerotic, despite the fact that it was meant for the female audience, not to mention you have Craig giving the busty Solange in a bikini the "Yeah, I'm gonna shag you" look. Gee, if that's homoerotic, then having Connery running around in trunks during most of Thunderball is probably the most homoerotic moment in Bond film history. :roll:

Oh, it was pretty homoerotic, although perhaps not in the strict dictionary definition of the word. It was just a bit weird.

I don't think anyone uses the "official" definition of "homoerotic" to be honest.

Connery in his tight trunks etc etc are termed "homoerotic" by some people.

Maybe you ought to start a campaign against the misuse of the word K.! :lol:

What phrase should be used instead?
