The Daily Mail reports that Callum Turner began shooting his Bond screentest at Bray Studios in Berkshire today. That's where they made the Hammer films if I'm not mistaken. We've finally reached the point where things are leaking and they can't keep everything secret. I've also got my fingers crossed for an unknown or surprise choice. The acting pool in Britain is very deep. To search for months and end up with Jack Lowden and Callum Turner feels lazy, boring and unimaginative.

My God, what on Earth are they thinking if that is a genuine shortlist??? I can only hope they do have one or more unknowns lined up as you said, yeah.

Is it me or do Josh O'Connor's ears look about as big as Callum Turner's?

The forum is being weird again. I wrote a post here but I can't see it, but when I go on the main page, it is shown under LAST POST, with this link, which works when I click it: viewtopic.php?p=126082#p126082

Was just saying what on Earth are they thinking with this shortlist, if it's genuine???

How strange. I can see both Acid's posts on Tapatalk, but neither of them in the browser version.

Some hearsay online that Jonathan Bailey is the fourth 'mystery' candidate. The Daily Mail updated that article and now seem to be saying Elordi isn't out of contention yet. This is like following a confusing soap opera.

Security gathered to escort a Mercedes out of Bray Studios on Saturday afternoon, with speculation high it was an actor who had arrived to audition for the role.

James Bond screen tests continue as mystery star is flanked by security leaving studios in Berkshire. Screen tests are said to be taking place throughout this weekend, with between three and five actors understood to have reached the last stages of the process

For what it's worth (not a lot in all likelihood), Jeff Sneider is now claiming the producers and Amazon want Elordi but Denis Villeneuve does not. Sneider is going to look like a big fraud if it turns out Elordi was never in the running. The Derek Acorah of gossip columnists.

Looking around, there seems to be a degree of criticism towards the shortlist. Pascal worked with O'Connor on Challengers. Nina Gold cast Lowden in Slow Horses. David Heyman has known Turner for years with the Fantastic Beasts franchise. It literally feels like they just phoned their mates up.

This is actually making Eon look not so bad in hindsight. Sure, they cast Craig but if he'd turned them down their back-up options consisted of (then) unknown up and coming actors like Cavill, Rupert Friend, Antony Starr, Sam Worthington, Matthew Goode and Alex O'Loughlin.

Gosh, how unusual, an article from a Murdoch paper that isn't hidden behind a paywall. I agree with most of this. I have long since stopped sharing every Bond-related story that appears on my news feed, due to their repetitive and speculative nature. I don't care that x has overtaken y to become the bookies' favourite (though bookies' odds stories might have some meaning now that we're close to an announcement).
