I was wondering about him the other day. I suspect it depends on whether the next film is another hard reboot or more of a continuation of the 1962-2002 series. His beef was that Craig was now an official Bond like Connery or Brosnan. Now that it's been confirmed that the Craig films exist in their own separate timeline, a soft reboot like Goldeneye might bring him back.

Justin Kroll (of Deadline) just tweeted that no Bond has been chosen yet and the final auditions take place in October. This presumably means all the recent Jack Lowden stories didn't have any substance.

Final round is mid-October - my guess is we get a new Bond between Halloween and Thanksgiving

Steven Knight, the screenwriter of the new James Bond film, has revealed that the next 007 has been cast – and hinted that he’s been writing with the actor in mind........rest assured once we know the SWEENEY will reappear here!-------my guess is we will NOT approve of the choice.

Terrible choice if its Jack Lowden. He is definitely not my idea of Bond.

I think he would have been great a few years back. Apparently they want an actor in his 30's now, so they can get mileage out of him for a few films. When you look at Dalton getting the gig and being in his 40's, it was never an issue back then, because Cubby could churn a film out every 2 years.

I would like Theo James as Bond, especially after seeing season 2 of The Gentlemen, but it looks like he will be too old, and he has ruled himself out of the running.

I just hope they get the casting right, otherwise I won't be looking forward to the next Bond film at all. NTTD was the lowest point in the franchise, The only way has to be up.

In a way, they're returning to the precedent of the '60s. Sean Connery was 31 when he was cast as Bond, and George Lazenby was 29. Since then, all the Bond actors were in their 40s when they were announced until Craig, who was just under at 39.
