Dalton seems to be getting more appreciation from the media lately. I'll admit that I didn't care much for the Dalton Bond films as a kid, but over time they grew on me. He's pretty cool and charismatic, and although he's a more serious Bond, he's not a gloomy/depressed soul to watch like Craig, in my opinion.

This article sums up my opinions better than I could! While I'm somewhat pleased Dalton's getting a renaissance in public opinion its obviously too little too late.

This article is of a similar nature, speaking of Dalton being ahead of his time. It remarks on how most people love Craig's darker Bond while pointing out the irony that we saw the same thing attempted 20 years ago and critics slammed it. Go figure!
"Dalton makes an effective Bond - lacking Sean Connery's grace and humor, and Roger Moore's suave self-mockery, but with a lean tension and a toughness that is possibly more contemporary" - Roger Ebert
