Re: NTTD spoiler thread
HaphazardStuff and DutchBondFan are currently making a series of videos discussing No Time To Die. This is their recent video taking a look at the film's mess of a story:
It's a forty-five minute video, but it's still worth a watch to see fans who don't mind Craig as Bond voice critical opinions about No Time To Die and the Craig era in general, some of which that are similar to what most of us have been saying here.
Haphazard didn't look too happy throughout this video and had some amusing things to say in regards to Bond having a daughter. One quote I particularly liked was "Is he going to go into a casino in this movie, or is he just going to cook Pop-Tarts for this kid?"
It will be interesting to see how well Craig's Bond era will age over time.

Re: NTTD spoiler thread
Found this comparison list someone made with Craig's Bond in No Time To Die and David Niven's Bond in Casino Royale '67:
I suppose you could also add that both of them wipe out an evil organization, and survive a bomb blast early in the film.
https://screenmusings.org/movie/blu-ray ... 7-0056.jpg
A couple of other things in Casino Royale '67 that relate to Skyfall is how Bond's home gets destroyed and M dies. There is probably other comparisons I can't think of right now, but David Niven pretty much accomplishes most of the things in one film that Craig does in five.

There was a line in CR about how the cavalry wasn't coming to save Bond, or something like that, which was a reference to a gag in CR67.

Check this out, MGW saying "Cubby would be proud" of killing Bond. I fear MGW will end his days like Dr Faustus with Cubby being Mephistopheles.

Re: NTTD spoiler thread
I will admit this Bond movie is not good. It is really a conundrum and has failure for the series. I was hopeful it will reach the fame of Skyfall. That will not happen, I will admit it.
For me, these are failures in NTTD:
For me, these are failures in NTTD:
- I appreciate they show Q is gay. It is there in the scene that show him he is preparing the dinner in apartment and he is waiting for the other guy. But how come they don't show that other guy? It is not enough they give like a hint Q is gay. So this scene is only a minor point and they have no courage showing details of gay life of Q. My friend Pankaj is also disappointed that no more details appear in close friendship of Bond and the CIA spy Felix Lighter. Pankaj is a literary scholar and has insight. He sensed there is attraction from Felix for James Bond. I remember in Avengers The Endgame there is a character that is sad for losing his male partner. That sadness is what is lacking between Felix and Bond, and NTTD is missing that kind of scene that bring more compelling situation in the movie. This is a lost opportunity.
- Story is confusing. Nanobot theme is not exciting for me. They also make the villain headquarter in Asia. It is better if they put the headquarter in Europe, like maybe one island in the Irish Sea. It is a cliche they make Asia where the villain lives.
- Story needed more women. M is still a straight white guy. M must be played again by a woman and best way is if she is a person of color. The DNA scientist should not be a man. That part must also be a woman. That is a big shame.
- Billie Eilish did not appear in the graphic titles. That is a shame. If they put graphics titles in the style of her music videos, that would be major sucess. They also did not let her appear in the movie. She has lots of fans and they will find excitement if she is in the movie. Maybe a good part is in the Cuba evening scene and we see her singing in that place.

Re: NTTD spoiler thread
Sandeep, you seem obsessed with racial, homo-erotic, and feministic undertones in a Bond film. None of that matters in this franchise. Look at the Mission Impossible spy films as an example. They are enjoyable to watch, as should a Bond film be. It should be about spy intrigue ONLY, without a woke checklist to please the SJWs. Let Hollywood create a homosexual spy, with homosexual characters, that are only people of color cast in it, with very few men, and have at it.

Re: NTTD spoiler thread
Hi bjmdds. It is not obsession but I have concern for diversity and inclusion. You see I do volunteer work in the community center and I help counsel people there. They are struggling and are feeling downtrodden. So for me it is good when movies show this perspective of fairness and not marginalize others.
I did not consider that perspective, I will admit that is a good point. It is true the spy movie must have intrigue and make it entertainment. But then I look at old Bond movie where I see discrimination and how there is toxic masculinity and I begin feeling outrage. Maybe balance must be put in Bond movies. For example, I like F9, it has diverse cast and they are all integral to the story and no group or person is marginalized.Look at the Mission Impossible spy films as an example. They are enjoyable to watch, as should a Bond film be. It should be about spy intrigue ONLY, without a woke checklist to please the SJWs.
That is a fair perspective. But I also believe social justice is important and apply it when necessary. Have you seen a series called Ann Boleyn? It is fantastic they cast a black actress in that part. I have started to watch this series and it is incredible.Let Hollywood create a homosexual spy, with homosexual characters, that are only people of color cast in it, with very few men, and have at it.
bjmdds, if I may ask, how do you feel what Tom Holland said about a new Spiderman? This is what he said,
"I would love to see a future of Spider-Man that's more diverse — maybe you have a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman. We've had three Spider-Mans in a row; we've all been the same. It'd be nice to see something different."
It is from this article: https://www.newindianexpress.com/entert ... 96246.html
What he said is how I feel about this Bond franchise. Like shake it up and show something different and show other perspectives. But it must have balance. I understand they must be entertaining like how you explain to me.

Sandeep, I think you'd feel more comfortable at the MI6 Community. There are loads of people who don't want James Bond to be James Bond, so you'll find a whale of a time there. You're welcome.

Ethan Hunt became Bond and Bond became a melodrama character aiming for Oscars and a SJW audience, unfortunately.bjmdds wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:49 am Sandeep, you seem obsessed with racial, homo-erotic, and feministic undertones in a Bond film. I don't think so. James Bond has always been a synonym of pleasure and enjoyment in my life. I get together with people that enjoy my passion just like I do, while they seem more eager in seeing what's right and wrong with the character under 21st century standards. What kind of lifestyle is fighting every day? That's why I'm on this forum and not in theirs.Sounds like you struggle with people of that site. Better then if you go there, not me.
You may have a point there. You are more superior in Bond knowledge than me, you have superior wisdom of Bond movies
I don't want changing people. I don't even want you to change, I'm just thinking you may be more comfortable there with people sharing your views. For a reason, supporters of two different football teams are separated during a match. I'm not kicking you out of here, nor I have the authority to do so. Just recommending you a place where I think you'd feel more comfortable in. Aristotle said the chief purpose for humans is happiness, and I tend to agree with. So, following that line, I was suggesting you a place where you'd be quite happy as they tend to love your ideas. But then again, if you want to praise the Craig era over here and what they did with James Bond, it's up to you.so you go there teach them, change them. NS, you're relatively new here so you missed the last time this individual stopped by. He showed up out of the blue one day spouting social justice platitudes, incorrectly I might add, as well as statements that can only be described as hand curated to offend the sensibilities of fans of the older Bond films.. He began feigning ignorance as to what this site was about and when informed continued right along with the nonsense. Save your breath he's obviously a flame warrior, hence his suggestion you go to MI6HQ and stir up trouble there. He's been blissfully absent the past couple of months I don't know what happened to bring him back, perhaps another holiday spent alone was just too much to bear. At any rate do yourself a favor and ignore him, he'll grow tried of his little game if there's nobody to play with, just as he did on the alternate007 message board.
