Probably immediately. Whoever replaces DC will instantly be hailed as the best Bond since Connery and so much better than that awful Daniel Craig.

I certainly hope you're right, but I wouldn't count on it.

Some of it is happening now. After the last movie some of the allusions were shattered. It was completely unenjoyable and made people think back to movies that were enjoyable and also has them speculate about who is next for the role. That doesn't happen when you have good lead actor in the role.

Once the franchise does not have a vested interest in Craig they will not bother to defend him, meaning these fan sites will finally feel free to criticizes him and his glum robobond. The Craig era will be looked back at as something you do not do again. Not on purpose. Similar to how the majority of people look on the likes of the Lazenby and Dalton eras.

If they had hired a young Sean Connery or Brozza looking young man to make CR and Quark with and that young man had offered up such a glum lifeless Bond with such a lack of charisma he would have been crucified by the fans and critics alike. Craig's who is an ugly man by most common standards gets a pass becasue people feel bad for him. What he is doing so different it is odd so, he must be good. Well not good but it's nuanced, right? He is the special Olympian Bond on the counts that matter.

The problem with firing Craig is you risk pissing off his fans, much like what happened with Brozza, and it's inevitable that fans would find things to hate about the replacement Bond.

Craig's fans? Where are they KT'd? Craig will be quickly forgotten. Jubilation will set in IF Eon gets it correct and hires us to help in the decisions.

Too right about *us* helping :P

I dunno about things changing where Craig is concerned. The usual places still seem pretty besotted with Craig and that doesn't seem to change. And if it *ever* does it will be s-l-o-w in happening. People actually being able to have an opposing opinion there without being jumped on?doesn't seem likely.

Many Bond fans are very fickle. They'll jump on the new bandwagon when it arrives eventually and there'll be a new group of fans for whom Bond#7 will be their (first) Bond. All the money, dubious awards and PR fluff pieces currently thrown at Craig will switch to the next actor - who will, of course, be the latest 'Best Bond Since Connery'. Dalton got brickbats when Brosnan took over, Brosnan took brickbats when Craig took over, etc. I'd be amazed if the retrospective view of DC didn't amp up the criticism over his looks and rather uncouth interpretation of Bond.

The way the Bond fandom is now, I don't know about a revisionist history where Craig is concerned. However, things do change. Right now, having an opposing opinion of him is like farting in church.

He will get it worst of all. They get a good Bond again and legions will forget about Craig.Quick.Bond is supposed to be several things.Craig is one.A killer.A killer who sticks out like a sore thumb.Get a Bond who is smooth and a ladies man and fun to watch and Craig will be stoned at the city gates.

I'm beginning to feel that Casino Royale was a fluke for Daniel Craig. Every Bond movie he makes won't be able to live up to it; they cannot make another film depicting a young, raw, rookie Bond, which seems to be the element that fans of Casino Royale enjoyed. Eon may freshen up the franchise by returning to their old formula in the Bond 23, but it will be a struggle with Craig. The first non-Craig Bond movie will include a handsome, suave Bond, the James Bond music and all those parts that make up classic Bond. Everyone will love it.

Yeah, but he's not going to be Bond forever, so talking about "the first non-Craig Bond film" is legitimate, because it's going to happen eventually, however much MI6ers may fantasize about Craig staying on until he's 80.

It looks like DC is going to have to unpack those famous shoe lifts and smear some Bisto on his face for another Bond, but hopefully we nearing the end of this charmless era for the franchise.

Daniel Craig did say he was going to make his three films and then 'get on with my life'. Bond 23 will be his third so we'll see if he really meant that.
