Post by JackWade CIA »

Before you guys have a cow try and remember that Borat and Apu are on the list too. So take it for what it is worth.

Daniel Craig beats Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio for best torso in film
Daniel Craig made a splash in his debut as James Bond in Casino Royale, by emerging from the waves in a skimpy swimsuit. That turn has now earned him top spot in an online poll of top movie star torsos.

Craig took 34% of votes in the Lovefilm vote. His 007 predecessor, Sean Connery, came in fifth for his more hirsute appearance in Thunderball. The number two spot went to Gerard Butler, with 21%, for his cape-and-codpiece role in Spartan fantasy epic 300, while Brad Pitt's classical beefcake role as Achilles in Troy landed him in third place.

Surprisingly, comedians featured prominently in the results. Sacha Baron Cohen and Russell Brand – usually more noted for their funny bones than six-packs – found places in the list. And American comic Hank Azaria, who voices Moe, Apu and Chief Wiggum in The Simpsons, made it thanks to a role as a hunky beach-resort diving instructor in Along Came Polly.

The other performers in the list were also recognised for beach-based roles: Leonardo DiCaprio in The Beach, Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii and Jan-Michael Vincent in surf classic, Big Wednesday.
The list in full:

1. Daniel Craig in Casino Royale (2006) – 34%
2. Gerard Butler in 300 (2006) – 21%
3. Brad Pitt in Troy (2004) – 14%
4. Sacha Baron Cohen in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) – 7%
5. Sean Connery in Thunderball (1965) – 6%
6. Leonardo DiCaprio in The Beach (2000) – 5%
7. Hank Azaria in Along Came Polly (2004) – 4%
8. Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii (1961) – 3%
9. Russell Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) – 2%
10. Jan-Michael Vincent in Big Wednesday (1978)

I don't think anyone even here can argue about Craig's torso. They may not think facially he is right for Bond, but his body is a different matter.
