Very sad news.

A great actor, and one of my favourite Bond villains. RIP Christopher Lee.

Very sad to lose both him and Ron Moody on the same day.

I was hoping he would stay a little longer in case if there's more Middle Earth stories to be adapted on-screen.

He was one of my favorite actors. He was so full of life I hoped he'd be over 100 when he died

Sad news indeed. He made Scaramanga, one of my last favourite literary Bond villains, into one of the best Bond film villains.

PeterJackson seemed pretty adamant that there would be no more Middle-earth films due to the rights situation. That line in The Hobbit where Gandalf mentions the two blue wizards and adds "I can never remember their names" was an in-joke, because he wasn't allowed to mention the names for copyright reasons.

He had such amazing talent. Underrated for most of his career luckily George Lucas and Peter Jackson could see the worth of the man. Not to undercut his contribution to 007, however he had a unimaginable impact on the movie industry as a whole.

There are Middle Earth games that are original stories, such as The Lord of the Rings: War In The North and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Pete could always go to those although he doesn't have to direct the films, and he said he might return to Middle-Earth someday.

RIP Sir Christopher. Bond villain, Dracula, Rochefort, Saruman, Count Dooku - he did it all! Fleming's cousin too!
"Dalton makes an effective Bond - lacking Sean Connery's grace and humor, and Roger Moore's suave self-mockery, but with a lean tension and a toughness that is possibly more contemporary" - Roger Ebert

The Wicker Man (1973) was a personal favourite for him I think. Britt Ekland from TMWTGG was in this film as well.

I don't know all the ins and outs, but I assume that game rights are handled separately from movie rights. Besides, I'm not sure I'd want to see a Middle-earth movie that wasn't based on Tolkien.
