Big Bond Blog
Hey, everyone. Newbie, but old-time lurker here. Blog post on my site, https://www.markwidmer.com/2023/07/james-bond.html, should appeal to the readers of this forum. Reviews the films, the songs, the Bond actors. Drop in and let me know how you like it/hate it/are indifferent to it...

Re: Big Bond Blog
Welcome, Mark. I don't agree with all the ratings, but that's inevitable in these things. At least it wasn't a Craig lovefest like most such blog posts.

Hello Mark. Welcome aboard the anti-Cr-egg train. I was glad to see you rated NTTD as one of the worst Bond films, which it was.
Re: Big Bond Blog
Hi Kristasos. You don't agree with all my rankings -- unacceptable! But seriously, would you consider re-posting yours? -- I did a search and only found your reference to them appearing in "another thread."
Re: Big Bond Blog
I did them years ago, and they may have changed over time. It'll be interesting to revisit them. I'll see if I can dig them out.Mark wrote:Hi Kristasos. Re: Big Bond Blog
OK, these are my rankings from the early days of this forum, when CR was the latest Bond film to be released:
23. Casino Royale '67
22. Moonraker
21. Octopussy
20. The Man With The Golden Gun
19. A View to A Kill
18. Never Say Never Again
17. Diamonds Are Forever
16. Casino Royale '06
15. Die Another Day
14. Goldeneye
13. The World Is Not Enough
12. Dr. No
11. Thunderball
10. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
9. Live and Let Die
8. Tomorrow Never Dies
7. For Your Eyes Only
6. The Spy Who Loved Me
5. The Living Daylights
4. You Only Live Twice
3. Licence To Kill
2. From Russia With Love
1. Goldfinger
Looking at it now, I'd probably move several of the Moores higher, CR lower, and add the other Craigs somewhere near the bottom of the list. DAF would be lower as well. it's now my least favourite of the pre-Craig EON films.

Re: Big Bond Blog
Welcome Mark, a rather enjoyable read! I especially like your tiered ranking system. As Kris points out discussing his list, Bond fan lists are always evolving and never set in stone. Also as you say a lot of it has to do with your mood at the time, do I want a bit of cheesy fun or a more "grounded" adventure. Love your commentary on the Craig films! Overall I would rate some films higher or lower based on my personal preferences, but that's to be expected everyone has their own tases.

Well, quite different assessments indeed! At least there's consensus on the Craig films.Kristatos wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 5:28 pm OK, these are my rankings from the early days of this forum, when CR was the latest Bond film to be released:
