From The Numbers' weekend forecast:

Lionsgate isn’t releasing box office numbers today, because it’s Thanksgiving, so we don’t have a Wednesday number of Knives Out just yet. That said, other studios have given their estimates and they mostly agree on $8.6 million, which is better than anticipated. If its reviews and its A minus from CinemaScore turn into long legs, it will easily top $20 million over three days and might even hit $25 million. That would be all the more impressive, as not everyone thought it would reach $25 million over five days. A $35 million five-day opening would give it a realistic chance at $100 million domestically, especially if it can remain in wide release until the new year.

Opinion piece on the recent spate of box office duds: https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2019/12/ ... fice-duds/

I think the author is right more often than not.

not bad. My theory is on the same page bad product over boycotts and avoiding it.

Knives out did a respectable first weekend, if it drops off it’s no murder on the orient express. If it’s keeps going it’s got bragging rights even if a it’s small return compared to other films

Weekend Box Office 5-Day Actuals
1. Frozen II - $125 million
2. Knives Out - $41.4 million
3. Ford v Ferrari - $19 million
Get the full chart here: https://imdb.to/2szsQ25

So, Knives Out exceeded expectations, and is in no way another Craig dud that will send him running back to Babbzy with his tail between his legs, begging to do a sixth "Bond" film. That has to be good news, right?

Well this isn’t going to get him a $20 million dollar offer from any other franchises. With $40 million budget he had to take a fraction of the $8 million he demanded for everything else since CR

I want to see if this gets the holiday legs or drops off. Murder on the orient express surprised me by hanging in the top ten for a long time.
It’ll make back it cost by this weekend I’d guess, only needs $120 million
