All fingers seem to be pointing in Iris Elba's direction when it comes to the next Bond. Or at least his name tends to pop up often next to Michael Fassbender.

And Damien Lewis and Tom Hardy and so on every time there's a slow news day.Jamesdude wrote:All fingers seem to be pointing in Iris Elba's direction when it comes to the next Bond. Or at least his name tends to pop up often next to Michael Fassbender.

As Daniel Craig is going to be Bond for another 10 years perhaps we should be looking at actors in their early 20s for the next Bond.
Bring back Bond!

I think you may be right there, dude.James wrote:I doubt there is much going on behind the scenes at the moment. My guess is that Barbara will be hoping to get two more films out of Craig. Groan.

That means you can watch the first non-Craig film for years when you are 40.ml94 wrote:Im 20 now...carl stromberg wrote:As Daniel Craig is going to be Bond for another 10 years perhaps we should be looking at actors in their early 20s for the next Bond.

Seriously, barbara & cregg have to go...
BOND #7
1. Unless, Barbara Broccoli sells her share in EON, that ain't going to happen.ml94 wrote:Seriously, barbara & cregg have to go...
2. Unless, Daniel Craig stars in a Bond movie that fails, that ain't going to happen, either.

If you think Spectre is a flop, can you name a Bond film, that you think is successful, besides Skyfall?

Re: BOND #7
I don't think Craig will be sacked because of poor box office returns. I think the question is more whether he'll want to return. Yes, he said he would rather slash his wrists, but he has since backtracked from that comment. It's not like he has much of a career outside Bond, but he could still decide to retire and live off the millions he's already made.ml94 wrote: Is spectre successful ENOUGH (cregg returning)...what you think?

BOND #7
Not that Spectre hasn't proven itself already; $749 million and counting. At this time, it's almost about to overtake Casino Royale, which made $600million in 2006 ($711 million in today's money).
Casino Royale cost $150 million to produce ($177 million in today's money).
Spectre cost $245 million to produce. Theoretically; that's $68 million more to produce than Casino Royale.
So, that leaves us with a $38 million discrepancy (at the present time), which will be swallowed up by next week. And it still will be on general release.
On the contrary, I will acknowledge that Daniel Craig might do a Timothy Dalton and leave the Bond franchise behind and make whatever he can out of his acting career. But, I doubt he will do that. Mind you, what Timothy Dalton might have been offered for Bond 17, wouldn't even have compared to what Daniel Craig would likely be offered for Bond 25.
He'll just say in a year's time, something like "Go on then, I'll do another one for you". After he's negotiated a lucrative new deal with the powers in charge.

Re: BOND #7
Wait, did you just compare Dalton to Craig?
That's like comparing Bond to..... to Bourne. The Dalton films included the Bond formula, just in a different way. They didn't throw out 'the [s]baby[/s] Bond and the bathwater'.
