I suspect that much of Craggy's crybaby bawling is just cheap attention-whoring to boost his "street cred" as a "Serious Actor" who doesn't really buy into the *bourgeois* values of the Actual James Bond movies, but will gladly take the Millions of Dollars that "Fat Cat" movie studios throw at him to "make a point" about how he's "Sticking It to The Man" and getting paid for it by "subverting" the Franchise with his "bold" Deconstructionist-skulking in Art-House backdrops that wows the Non-Conformist Hipster movement for additional "coolness" points.
Interesting statement about the bourgeois values of the films and Craig's "deconstructionist-skulking" to subvert the franchise. He's actually a big donor to the Bernie Sanders campaign. So old Danny Boy has socialist leanings. That came out last month:

http://time.com/4030921/daniel-craig-bernie-sanders/

If Craig leaves the Bond films, maybe he can be the running mate. Now that's hope and change. :D Then he can really "stick it to the man" and subvert everything for that oh so wonderful socialist utopia. Unfortunately, the rumors of him being low in intelligence seems to be true: he donated $47,300 to a Super PAC that supports Sanders but it's an organization with questionable practices that Sanders’ own campaign asked to cease and desist. The guy's completely clueless.

I guess PR now has a lot of job to do. This dropped just before SPECTRE premiere. Barbara got a real "screw you" in the face.
Looking at the interview again, one sees how this guy's been acting like a prima donna, having fits, and all because of his self-importance. He tells the interviewer that "For at least a year or two, I just don’t want to think about it [the next Bond film]." So he thinks the studio will wait for him to make a decision? The guy's drowned in his ego. And he contradicts himself. At the start of the interview, he says the studio was really keen to get the next film (Spectre) going "as soon as possible." Yeah, and guess what Danny Boy? They'll be eager to get the next one started. They won't be waiting two years for him to get his act together.

Both points are absolutely on the money. What stuck me about his interview, er the fist one, there were so many now that coincide with his meltdown screaming 'screw you!' to the fans and his lady love Barbara. What stuck me in the first 'slash my wrists' interview was his pompous claim about he poured everything "Bond" he had it to SPECTRE, nothing was left his well has run dry. Really? He does realized there were people making these movies happen? Studios and production companies were making Bonds before he was born, how was it possible since he was so integral to the process?

Then he said Logan gave them the bones of a story, probably true most accounts said it was awful, he then added two other writers were brought in... Wait a minute, does he mean Purvis and Wade, the duo he and director Sam Mendes got down on hands and knees begging to come back? He makes it sound like two no name studio staffers were called in, not two people he knows by name.

Others have said it better this man has always had an ego about his involvement, as this story starts to stick and his other interviews about 'not giving a f**k' pour fuel to the fire I'm beginning the believe this may be the end of Daniel as 007. I do not see how they can bring him beck to work with the people he openly disrespected.

I think we will know soon enough he has a million interview and television appearances he should be making along with the premier, all of which he hates doing passionately, if he does not make those rounds my bet is he is already out just waiting for his last check to clear.

I wouldn't be that shocked even if EON waited 10 ten years for him. Like Benny said Barbara thinks Craig is larger than the character itself.
However,if she would like him back(even after he said all these things) her team would say it's just not possible. This is a huge bad press that can not be erased that easily. Yeah, sure I have no doubt right now they are thinking about strategies
they could use but that won't be an easy task.

But then again, there was a huge bad press when Craig was cast and yet Casino Royale was called "best Bond movie" and Craig "the best since Connery"(in my opinion only a drunk person can think something like that)
So I don't know really...

Now that everyone has their hopes up he'll probably sign a new contract next year. The next James Bond actor will also be the best Bond since Connery. And the one after that. That's how the cycle works. There will be a bloodbath when Craig is no longer Bond and someone else has the part. He'll be the fugly Bond who made the dour films. Fingers crossed.

Why is that "crap"? I didn't go into CR expecting to hate it, but felt faintly depressed when I came out.

its crap because it's a cheap trick Hollywood constantly pulls out when they don't want to admit there is a reason for the criticism .
It then devolves if you pay them to see if and still don't like it to a who are you to judge are you a actor or direct

Whenever they say don't judge it before you see it they are punting the problem and hoping to score as much money as the can before public opinion crucified the movie , I've heard it so often im sick of it

Written by a true EON stooge, regurgitating all the same lines EON has polluted the airwaves with over the last 10 years. "Invisible car, blah, blah, blah", "kite surfing, whaa, whaa, whaa". He's trying to polish the turd dropped by EON with Spectre and reestablish Craig as "Bond like" by shoehorning him into a false representation of Fleming's Bond.

The author claims Craig made this statement to him 3 weeks after Spectre wrapped:

“I always had a kind of secret plan when I started doing these movies,” he told me. And this was it: by starting with the “stripped-back” script of Casino Royale, he wanted to reintroduce the series’ more familiar elements gradually, in a way that would make sense in a modern-day context – and “do it in as smart a way as possible, so that they’re not obvious”.

Craig said this years ago when Skayfall fell, and its as idiotic now as it was then. I would also point out he was putting a whole lot of thought in to a series he wanted out of before he began also it's presented as though EON brought him on board and then just handed the reins over to him lock, stock, and barrel.

also this on the "subtle" references to the prior films:

“And that’s a lot harder to do than people think it is,” he said. “To do it with subtlety and wit and all of those things takes solid, solid work.”
Yeah all the subtlety of a sledge hammer to the temple!

But this line from early in the article had to be my favorite!:

"The 24th film in the Bond series, SPECTRE, arrives in cinemas later this month – and, from what little has been revealed so far, it seems to continue the work of both Casino Royale and Skyfall."

Really! I literally fell on the floor laughing at that! This is probably the most "revealed" Bond film of all time!

I think the litmus test will be if people start saying that Craig looks bored in SPECTRE, when it is released. To me, he's looked like someone who doesn't want to be there in all his Bond films, but now that seed has been planted, will other people see it too?

Good point Kris, people have been susceptible to suggestion with old chestnuts like "Craig is the best actor to play Bond" and other such nonsense, will they be susceptible to the truth though, that will be interesting!

Yeah, it's the same schtick. The reporter is another one of those useful idiots in the Eon camp. This must be Eon's way of trying to "soften" the PR mess from Craig's sissy fits these last few days. For me, the bizarre part of this article is at the beginning, where the reporter states that the invisible car in DAD is the worst thing ever in the series. Actually, the worst ever in the series is in Skyfall, where Craig's Bond reveals he's been with men. 50 years after Terrence Young and Connery established the cinematic Bond of pure machismo style, Craig topples all that with his gay Bond.

Agree completely Atticus! I'll add the second worst part of the series is also in Skyfall where the big climax is an "homage" to Home Alone, the A team, Macgyver, and even a little Burn Notice.
