Man I think I'd a avoid it. Out of curiosity how hot is she?
It could be the biggest headache and become the biggest boss battle of your life.
Besides I don't want to have to defend Dalton to some Moore lover...
(Joking... Seriously how hot is she?)

Is it bad there? I never looked at it's forums.
Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
The worst. The Bond message boards are full of 12-year-olds burbling about how Daniel Craig is badass and old films like Goldfinger are boring.bjmdds wrote:Is it bad there? I never looked at it's forums.

Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
Yes, the IMDb Bond forums are pretty nauseating. Lot's of mindless ranting and very aggressive Craig fans. It's not a nice place for Moore or Brosnan fans in particular.bjmdds wrote:Is it bad there? I never looked at it's forums.
On the topic of discussion, it's quite difficult just to find someone that accepts nerdy interests. So a relationship with another Bond fan I suppose would be okay providing that you share similar tastes in Bond, or you're both open-minded enough to have a difference in opinion without getting into nerd rants.
Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
Let's see, I guess only 12% of the Bond fans are women. Most women are into Twilight, Hunger Games, and 50 shades of Grey.

Is it this low? The breakdown opening weekend is a tad more balanced.
Hard core fans and forums maybe I could see it. Out of the world population Bond fans are a minority of a minority. Possible 100 million of us at best. Of the truly devoted?? I'd guess less than a million. The new books sell less than ten thousand first week, the best was the awful DMC with thirty to forty thousand first week. Judging from the sales games, books, music, DVDs, etc. we are not all that many.

Unless the entire Bond franchise were made for teenagers. Well if James Bond was an ageless teenager, every 4-5 years a new teen actor will be cast to play the teenage Bond.Blowfeld wrote:Is it this low? The breakdown opening weekend is a tad more balanced.

Mrs. Dr No, she watched a Bond movie or two before she met me and we've gone on dates nights to the movies. She gets Bond and why I like it and we've watched the movies at home many many times. If she hated Bond I'd gladly live the rest of my life without it. But thankfully she enjoys an occasional Bond adventure, not a big fan like me, ganddad or the kids are becoming, still she knows her way around a license to kill.

Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
None of my GF's have been Bond fans although their ignorance was useful when I was recycling the various witty puns and quips. I was able to pass them off as my own, chicks seem to like that sort of humour (in NZ at least!)
The biggest laugh I got was after leaving a table to use the restroom. She said she'd keep my drink cold and I responded:
"And everything else warm I trust..."
Ironically I can't even remember which one that's from. Is it A View to A Kill?

Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
Uh. I'd say not really. I've run it to people who hated bond, from church for example where the life style and morals of Bond were the road to hell. Some I met in collage had the opinion that Bond was outdated, antiwoman, behind the times, all the junk we got when the reboot was thrown in our faces.Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:Surely most people like James Bond movies? Even if most are not fanatics.
Of course I remember the feeling or wherever that Pierce Brosnan was fixing the ills with Bond making it more culturally sensitive and politically correct. Then all the stuff about how bad Bond was when the rebooted was being championed by the people who hated all the movies that came before.
I'd like to agree that most normal people like Bond and it people with religious or political chips on their shoulder who don't but I'm not that confident.

Imdb is a horrible forum, a few years back when someone close to Me lost one of their kids (miscarriage) one of the posters made fun of Me and said it was My fault (when I was complaining about eastenders doing a miscarriage storyline to a character who already lost too much), they're f**king pieces of s**t there and sick in the head for thinking that kind of thing is funny.Omega wrote:No kidding. I hate internet forums for this reason along with debates with people (a reason I also hate facebook, along with befriending people).

Speaking of IMDB, one of the Pro-Craig minions there (9 years ago) said that Pierce is a much worse actor than Fat Seagal is.shaken not stirred wrote:Imdb is a horrible forum, a few years back when someone close to Me lost one of their kids (miscarriage) one of the posters made fun of Me and said it was My fault (when I was complaining about eastenders doing a miscarriage storyline to a character who already lost too much), they're f**king pieces of s**t there and sick in the head for thinking that kind of thing is funny.Omega wrote:No kidding. Re: Will you ever date/marry a James Bond fan?
I'm pretty liberal minded and left wing politically, but even I was mortified with the political correctness and female empowerment forced upon the Brosnan films. I don't oppose those things in real life but would've preferred Bond to stay Bond. Of course its only got worse with the reboot as well, thanks Babs...Dr. No wrote:Capt.
