Goldfinger 50th Anniversary
There is a new release for the 50th too. Is it a newly remaster or the same as the bluray?

Re: Goldfinger 50th Anniversary
When I think about Goldfinger (my favorite Bond film) and that it's been 50 years since its world premiere, this image comes to mind:
Man, it seems like it was only yesterday that I was gawking at Shirley Eaton on this Life magazine cover. Some of the older kids in my neighborhood who had seen the film were really jazzed about the Aston Martin DB5 and Odd Job and his lethal derby hat. However, I didn't finally get to see this film until it premiered on the ABC television network in September of 1972. So what am I planning to do to celebrate my favorite Bond film's 50th Anniversary besides this bout of reminiscing? Well, I've got that Goldfinger blu-ray steelbook ordered from Amazon UK. So I'll be watching that when it arrives -- hopefully on September 27th, which would be prefect for that weekend. Here's hoping for a Goldfinger Saturday, eh!

Unlikely, since they already did a 4K remaster years ago and that's what the first blu-ray was based on.Omega wrote:There is a new release for the 50th too. Is it a newly remaster or the same as the bluray?

Re: Goldfinger 50th Anniversary
This is what I was assuming. In this last year a lot of movies are being rerelease with the same master as before. But there are a few remastered to look good in ultra hd.stockslivevan wrote:Unlikely, since they already did a 4K remaster years ago and that's what the first blu-ray was based on.Omega wrote:There is a new release for the 50th too.
