Re: Dr No vs. FRWL
I think the Bond films hadn't quite found their tone with DN, and FRWL is better made, but I don't wish to write off DN altogether. The titular character is a memorable villain, and his lair shows Ken Adam's striking visual style, even on a low budget.

FRWL with out a doubt. Eon was finding the right mix. Knew they had a market and took what they were doing seriously.

Re: Dr No vs. FRWL
I wonder how different some of the other Bond movies would have been if they were made first instead of Dr No?

Re: Dr No vs. FRWL
Both are great movies. Dr. No gets a lot of respect for gets it right from the start. If it had been 2nd or 3rd in the series I don't know how I'd rank it.

Re: POLL: Dr No vs. FRWL
I voted Dr No.
Both films are classic Bond, but personally I prefer Dr No to FRWL. The former was more straightforward and a bit tougher overall. It also had some science fiction elements which I like in Bond films. Dr No was also extremely well made on a small budget, it looked more expensive than it was.
Most of the Bond ingredients are there from the start as well, although if it had been made later in the series it would obviously be a bit more spectacular.
As it is I think it was the perfect film to kick off the series though. I think it made more of an impact than FRWL would've made as the first Bond film.

Re: POLL: Dr No vs. FRWL
From Russia With Love without a doubt.A real classic spy movie.Brilliant.In my opinion, this is the best Bond movie. Of course,Dr.No is great as well. The scene in casino-what can I say?It simply brilliant and iconic. No one has a better "Bond...James Bond" than Sean. And there's Ursula. The climax of the movie is a bit disappointing tough. But,still this movie started it all.
