Damien Molony plays Hal in the BBC's Being Human. I could see him as a dark and brooding Daltonesque Bond.

"Dark..and Daltonesque". No chance of being cast with Barbara in charge then!

I should add that just a photo doesn't really do him justice. I'm basing my assessment as much on his performance in Being Human as on his looks. I'll try and find a clip that shows what I'm talking about (Willis). I think his accent might need modifying though, I can't quite place it, but it doesn't sound very Bondian.

The first question Barbara will as is 'can he sulk?' He reminds of Conner from Primeval
A video interview with him here

This clip begins with a flashback to 1950, when Hal was still evil (for those who don't watch the show, Hal is a reformed vampire who has renounced human blood, but who, like a recovering alcoholic, struggles to keep his impulses in check), but impeccably stylish nonetheless.

I couldn't imagine Barbara going for this chap. Can you imagine who she'll dig up next. Ugh.

Too right! Unfortunately Kris did find the next Barbara Broccoli 007, the skin head chap in the video who didn't want to be a blunt instrument any more. :(

OK, maybe Barbara wouldn't go for him, but I was wondering if anyone else here agreed with me that he would make a good Bond. He is still young enough (27) that he could take over after Henry had done a few films.

Aside form being a smidgen too short, from what I've seen he is a decent choice for a more traditional 007. For one thing he looks at ease in the kind of clothing Bond should wear, Daniel to me always looks like the cliche ex-boxer turned bouncer.

Heh, Molony just tweeted from the Designing 007 exhibition at the Barbican, saying "Researching the dream role tonight". I guess that answers the question of whether he'd be up for it. How refreshing, an actor playing Bond who actually wants the part.
