As far as I know,no..but there is going to be be a LOT of repairs to be done.Not the first time a fire has damaged the pier(also we have had some winter weather that has done considerable damage in the past.)

The more unanswered questions mount up with the assassination attempt the more sinister this all looks. Speculation is already being made about a set up of Trump with the D E I appointed FEMALE head of the Secret Service not giving the world a press conference 6 days after it happened! She is also friends with Liz and Dick Cheney who both said Trump must NEVER be President again and must be STOPPED! She was appointed to her position by Jill Biden to boot! No answers and obvious security neglect adds up to a devious interpretation of these remarkable events. Monday awaits her subpoena by Congress. We will see if she shows up.

I agree that a lot of things don't add up, but morbid as this thought is, I think that if the secret service had been involved, they would have been successful. As allergic as I am to conspiracy theories, I'm coming round to the view that the whole thing was staged, and that the poor guy in the audience who got killed was just collateral damage.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here. You seem to be saying that the feds were trying to take Trump out, the way they did with JFK, Malcolm X etc (the difference being that those assassinations were successful). I was talking about the idea that it was staged in order to generate sympathy for Trump. On balance, this theory is still probably nonsense, but there are certain things that don't add up. Like the fact that the shooter was a registered Republican who is remembered by his classmates as being very conservative, and the way Trump immediately jumped up and shouted "fight, fight, fight" like he was at Wrestlemania again (though that might just be a result of his dementia giving him flashbacks).

Hey, I said it was probably nonsense. And yes, you have hit upon the biggest objection. If it was staged, it seems unlikely that they would have used live ammunition.

"Based on the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) — the key source data for the annual benchmark revision — a large downward revision seems likely; we estimate on the order of 600k-1mn (or a 50-85k downward revision to monthly payroll growth over April 2023-March 2024),"Goldman's economist Walker said in a note last week.
