Oh,Sir Rog...I wish he just stopped defending and praising Craig. His fans are the ones that trash Roger's legacy and call him campy and blah blah blah...
Maestro Mendes and prima donna Barbara also don't have much respect for his legacy either. They are all for serious, humorless, boring approach and classic Bond is beneath them.

Billy Elliott star Jamie Bell to give Tom Hiddleston competition to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond

He made his name as Billy Elliott but now it looks as though the British actor has set his sights on becoming the new 007.

Jamie Bell is reportedly speaking to James Bond producers about the possibility of replacing Daniel Craig in the role, according to The Sun.
Bond boss Barbara Broccoli is said to have been left impressed by Jamie after working with him on his latest movie, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.

“Barbara has been a fan of Jamie for a long time and has even thought about him playing another role in the franchise before,” an insider told the newspaper.
Since Billy Elliott launched him into fame, 30-year-old Jamie, has gone on to star in a wide array of movies including King Kong, Jumper and the Fantasic Four.

It has been widely rumoured that Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston will replace Craig in the iconic role, but Jamie’s name is also reportedly in the ring.
“Tom Hiddleston and Aidan Turner are still in the frame, but Jamie has really shown that he is definitely up there competing with them,” the source claimed.

Jamie, who is currently dating House of Cards star Kate Mara, has just wrapped his latest movie 6 Days. In the film he plays an SAS soldier who leads troops to storm the Iranian Embassy after it is taken over by gunmen.

The speculation comes after Daniel Craig has reportedly called time on his tenure as James Bond after snubbing a £68 million offer for two more films.
The actor - who has played Ian Fleming's fictional spy in the character's previous four big screen outings - is set to walk away from the role he has taken on since 2005 despite a big money offer.

Although MGM studio is said to be keen to keep him on board, the Mail Online reports that the offer has been rejected. Of the rumours, an Eon spokesman said: “Barbara regularly speaks to lots of actors and nothing has been decided yet on Bond.”

Jamie Bell is 5ft 7in which is not really tall enough for James Bond. I searched for his height on Google and he once described himself as a "strapping 5-7".

This time round a tall handsome Bond with black hair is needed.

Goodie! Seems the only casting requirement it blokes who can fit into skinny jeans!
If it ends the current Bond Soap Opera era I'll welcome my new Bond overlord with joy. Well a firm handshake while reserving the web addresses of their name followed by NOTBOND.Com. ;)

Seriously thou we might be able to tell when the new Bond is cast, I would almost bet MGM and EON would buy up the new Bond's nameNOTBOND.com just to head that possibility off.

Ah! another Gary Larson fan!
It was a culture shock to find people who didn't know who he was and didn't appreciate the humour. I had all the galleries at one point and then for some reason I purchased the huge hardcover anthologies which weigh to much. More a table book, hard to hold up to read, disappointing really. They are in paper back now maybe I should buy them again..I might have book addiction. Nasty habit. The compulsion to buy a book especially if it's by a favourite author. Sadly the majority of my books are in storage and now I'm getting the ebook buzz.

I was considering re-reading the Fleming 007 books in order then writing reviews, anybody interested maybe a book club? Also consider read then watching the movies however I'd have to start with Casino Royale. :skull:

Jamie Bell? Good grief. He is on par with Daniel Craig when it comes to suitability for the role. Hiddleston may not look like Bond but when you compare him to this wussy guy he reaches Brosnan levels of suitability.
It seems it only matters if Barbara likes someone or not. If she likes someone then she can hang out with them in private she doesn't have to hire them for something they are completely wrong for.
Either Hiddleston or Turner would be MAJOR,REALLY MAJOR impovements over Craig. Hiddleston has the charm and suaveness while Turner scores better when it comes to the looks. But this guy? If he is Bond I'm Angelina Jolie.

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Craig and Katherine Heigl are said to be finalizing deals to join Steven Soderbergh’s heist film Logan Lucky about brothers who plan a crime during a NASCAR race in Charlotte. The film is scheduled for a fall start date, which puts further into question the actor’s willingness to return to the Bond franchise for MGM. Pre-production on Logan Lucky starts this weekend at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 and NASCAR says it has thrown its support behind the picture which is huge given that the sport has literally millions of fans across the country and advertisers flock to it. There have been no negotiations on where the Bond movie will land (Sony or Warner Bros. are out front on this) and although it was thought that negotiations might start after the first quarter 2016, parties are not likely to engage in negotiations until later this year. There is no workable script yet and the creative elements have yet to come into place. It has also been widely reported (and confirmed by Deadline) that Jamie Bell has discussed the Bond role with his Film Stars Don’t Die movie producer Barbara Broccoli (who has long produced the Bond movies). Craig has been very vocal about not wanting to do another Bond. After Spectre, he said publicly that he would rather slash his wrists than do another in the franchise. The actor has also signed up to star in a limited TV series Purity which is likely to be 20 episodes over two seasons and producer Scott Rudin and writer/director Todd Field are currently negotiating to set that up now at Showtime. The series hopeful based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen is about young female activist named Purity (or Pip) who begins a worldwide search for her Dad. It marks Craig’s first TV series in the U.S. With that kind of TV schedule for Craig, it seems improbable that he would suit up anytime soon for Bond, but nothing has been determined and like Ian Fleming has said never say never again.

Came across this stupid video calling for a female or non-white Bond because it's time to bring the series into the 21st century. I guess the Craig era isn't politically correct enough for some people.

Jamie Bell may be 5'7'', but at least he looks more handsome than Craig is. As a traditionalist, I wouldn't pick him, but based on the madness of the psychotic dictator and nonsensical success and recognition of DC Bond films, I say just do whatever you want and cast Bell for all I care.
