Anthony Horowitz recently told the Daily Mail that he believes Elba is "probably a bit too 'street' for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah." "Between The World and Me" author Ta-Nehisi Coates tweeted that Hororwitz should "Just be honest and say 'James Bond's being white is important to me' and be done with it." But in the interview, Horowitz -- whom the estate of Bond creator Ian Fleming chose to take over the 007 books -- said his issue with Elba for the role has nothing to do with the actor's race. "Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better," the writer said. Horowitz tweeted an apology amidst all the controversy Tuesday. "I admit it was a poor choice of word," he said. "I am mortified to have caused offence."
You said it DB The liberal leftwingers are all full of it They try to stop all contrary thought to their beliefs and this country is so fed up with it I hope we get a resounding response November 2016 at the pollsdirtybenny wrote:bjmdds wrote:(CNN)The writer of the new James Bond novel "Trigger Mortis" has set off a firestorm with a remark about Idris Elba. Once again the "progressive", "forward thinkers" tamp down free speech. I find it highly ironic how those who wrap themselves in the cloth of "free speech" (leftists mostly) are always the first to condemn someone who's thoughts don't completely mesh with their's. First of all Horowitz states in the interview he has no problem with a "black Bond" and offers up an example of another actor who he thinks fits the bill instead of Elba, but because he used the word "street" he is instantly a racist and a despicable excuse for a human. Its inconceivable how we as a species have fallen so far down the rabbit hole of political correctness that even those who agree on something still find ways to call each other "racists". Its gotten to the point where that word really has no substantive meaning anymore.
It's no longer right and left, it's right and wrong and people have had it with Washington insiders Oh-bama, Boehner, McConnell all are trash and eat out of the same political bought off trough I want an outsider to win in 2016, whoever it is.dirtybenny wrote:Thanks BJ, but make no mistake I'm no fan of the right ether, they have their faults and foibles same as the left, I'm just out here in overtly communist California where I have to put up with the left far more than the right.

All the other Bonds had battles with the Bond producers but Craig chooses the title, director, theme song, edits the script, gets a cut of the profits............
