Tom Cruise will be back in theaters as Ethan Hunt sooner than expected. Paramount and Skydance Productions have moved up the release of Mission: Impossible 5 from Christmas Day of this year to July 31, 2015 — the same weekend used to launch Guardians of the Galaxy, proving that August can be a lucrative corridor for event films. Since MI5 will be completed earlier than expected, the studio decided to distance the film from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which rolls out in theaters Dec. 18. (Abrams, who directed Cruise in Mission: Impossible III, is a producer on MI5.) MI5 also gets out of the way of MGM and Sony's James Bond sequel Spectre, which opens Nov. 6, according to insiders. In its new home, the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise will go up against Alcon and Warner Bros.' Point Break redux, as well as Southpaw, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Christopher McQuarrie, who teamed with Cruise on Paramount's Jack Reacher, directs MI5. The last film, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, released in December 2011, earned nearly $650 million globally, a franchise best.

This is seen as a win for SPECTRE because there won't be another spy movie after SPECTRE debuts in early November.

There is the 5th Bourne, but it doesn't matter. Babs has already won. Anybody or anything can be Bond now.

I wouldn't worry about Mission impossible I Would worry more about Star Wars and the other heavy hitters coming.

MI:5 should be a great film off of the last one's success.

2016 would've been better for MI5 since MI turns 50 by then.

The Peanuts Movie and Spectre go head to head but the Hunger Games is released 2 weeks after so that will garner a lot of attention.

Even with Katniss and the Jedis, DC's Bond will still strike over $1 billion at the box office.

Moore is fawning over Craig again say Craig and Connery are the best bonds ranking himself behind Lazenby I assume making Moore last.

The weather forecasters blew it big time once again and embarrassed themselves :!: We have about 7-8 inches of snow in NYC, nothing close to the 24-36 inches they scared the entire region with. The tv weather people don't even show the actual snow amounts on the screen and they all have egg on their faces, as does the mayor and the 2 Governors of NJ and NY. The ONLY outlet to nail the correct amounts was the Weather Channel and they predicted 4-8 inches total. What a joke. It's very cold though and will remain so for the next 7 days so melting of the snow that falls will take time. Roger Moore is a pathetic idiot and he should have his pacemaker adjusted because the blood supply to his brain is obviously not efficient enough for reasonable thought to occur.

I'm not so sure it will, for a lot of reasons like the sony leaks that took the surprise out if it and the fact really strong competition is going to be out during and before its run.

The main reason I think it will not do as well is Star Wars , imo people don't go to bond because it is a "spy" movie. honestly I would be hard to make the case must of the movies are really spy movies, and if spy movies were that big Bourne franchise would be bigger and other spy movies would do better just because they are spy movies.

Imo bond movies have been more adventure oriented since before Dalton took up the roll. So I don't think mission impossible moving is a problem or helpful . If they were released close together it'd be cool to see how they fight it out for the same audience. But with Star Wars on bonds door if it is any good at all could be the biggest movie since avatar . Also Mission may take the dollars early on of the real "spy" movie fans one thing the last few years has shown is fewer people are going to the movies and enough big movies take out the oxygen in the room for other franchises even if the movies are well made .

Not this time FBF. The last film was an anniversary edition for the franchise. It will do well, but I don't think it will top $1 billion this time. His first 2 did half that so the 3rd film was an aberration at the box office most likely. It should do Garfield the Cat's Spiderman's numbers more likely in the $750 million range.

Image Daniel Craig stands on a snow-covered mountaintop, in jeans, hiking boots and a $495 cobalt-blue puffer jacket. Emblazoned on his sleeve is the only status symbol for freezing fashionistas: A red, white and blue circle marking the brand Canada Goose.............the cast and crew spearheaded by director Sam Mendes of "James Bond 24" are reportedly facing another dilemma as their schedule to film a helicopter scene in Rome's 15th century Ponte Sisto Bridge on March was again cancelled by the city authorities, imposing speculations that the release date would indeed be delayed. "Some campaigners are concerned about damage to the bridge, which dates from the 1400s, others are upset over the religious connection," a source from the set explained. Adding, "The bridge is said to be haunted by the ghost of Donna Olimpia Pamphili, Pope Innocent X's lover who crossed it each night on her way to his bed. Believers get quite upset by the prospect of disturbing spirits. "Sam has already had to change one major scene, now it looks like he's going to have to go back to the drawing board on this one."

Daniel Craig may be playing the role of a stormtrooper in the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The actor is known for playing the role of James Bond on screen. The actor has so far not confirmed his role in the sci-fi movie.

A new report suggests that past rumours about Daniel Craig playing the role of a stormtrooper in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" may be true. According to MiketheFilmGuy, multiple sources have confirmed that the actor will be a soldier in the Empire's army in the upcoming movie.

The report does not specify how long the actor will feature in the movie or if he will have any lines. It also does not specify whether the fans will get to see the actor without a helmet in the movie. The report, however, asked the fans to note any familiar voice by one of the stormtroopers when the movie gets released.......Big O,FBF, your thoughts?

Didn't the mayor get flack for keeping the schools open the last time NYC was hit by a big snowstorm? It is probably better to err on the side of caution.

Based on SF's box office gross, Charlie Brown wouldn't a chance against DC's Bond this November.

TLD was adventure oriented while LTK, on the hand, was something we saw in in the likes of Lethal Weapon.
