One one hand, Dalton never had to worry about typecasting, on the other hand, he hasn't had anything anywhere near Bond where he has had a leading role. Most of his work has flown under the radar. Being labeled as the actor that almost killed off the Bond series couldn't have helped.
Strange considering George Clooney's career only got better after he killed off the Batman films...

Funny old world we live in!
By the time he killed the bat it was a joke to most in Hollywood.

Dalton IMO was a little stronger because he played bond seriously and only for a short time, two years he played bond although he was bond for a lot longer. Yes some want to say he killed bond and he was not as popular as Brosnan would become but he was alway a strong actor in good roles.

Tim would have been an excellent Iron Man (if made in the 90s).

Even though that opportunity is nothing more than a dream now, MCU could use someone like Tim in a different role if not Iron Man.

Cinema Blend speculated on Wednesday as to what the nature of Waltz's role could be in Bond 24 and they decided that the Austrian actor could be playing a classic Bond villain: Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

According to the site, bringing SPECTRE and Blofeld back into the fold would not only draw older Bond fans, it would also offer a nice through-line into the next actor that takes up the Walther PPK. Imagine it: Bond is presumed dead on Craig's last op against Blofeld and his crew, only to come back in Bond 26, fresh faced and ready for action.

I was guttered when the rumour about him being Alfred in the DCCU turned out to be false. I do like Jeremy Irons, but Dalton would've suited better methinks. Alfred is an ex British secret service officer so 007 himself would be only fitting. I also think he'd be more suited to a DC film with their aim to be more realistic and gritty, like his Bond. Marvel have a more family friendly audience target, not really Dalton's zone. Maybe he could be Commissioner Gordon.

I dunno, he was Rasillon and Mr Pricklepants, so he's not averse to family entertainment.

Marvel is Disney, and Tim did a Disney flick long before Toy Story 3 which was The Rocketeer.

Nice pic kiwichris, back in the 90s Dalton would've fit tony stark perfectly (the 90s cartoon minus the overexaggerated muscles on stark, looked like a cross between freddy mercury and dalton), but ultimately I think Downey Junior ended up being the right fit for tony stark in the end.

PG-13 to start so younger people could go and concentrate on gadgets and espionage vs. brutal bloody scenes.

I agree, Downey Jr. has totally made the role his own, not an easy act to follow for whoever dons the armour whenever/if ever a reboot is made.

Pierce intended NM to be gritty and gadget free. I don't know if make it PG-13 would help. Look what happen to Expendables 3.

Re: Dalton after 007

While Timothy was not my favourite 007 his after career is remarkable for the range of movies. For example his acting Hot Fuzz was incredible, I could not picture Pierce nor any other 007 actor managing the balance of humour and menace so perfectly.

I wonder as I do for some of the Doctor Who actors if the show/007 were not better managed their acting and performance would not have reflected their true talent more accurately.

Balance of humor and menace. If I remember correctly, Tim has done this with The Rocketeer.

Babs will do anything to make Bond 24 gross higher than SF.
