Where have you been? Cr-egg is still Bond and the world is awaiting the sale of Bond some day to MGM to rid us of this egregious bovine marsupial. Have you seen November Man?
No, I haven't seen November Man yet. I do intend to see it. It's good to see Brosnan back as a spy again.
I need to go see both November Man and The Expendables 3 before they're gone from theaters.
I was sad to hear that Richard Kiel died. He was probably my favorite Bond henchman? It's been a bad month so far, my friend and singing hero Jimi Jamison died on September 1st.
Richard Kiel was sick for some time. He had a long life especially considering everything he had to deal with.
Jami was far too young.
Yeah, Jimi had just turned 63 the week before his death. I got to see him one last time about two weeks before his death. He seemed fine at the time.
My apologies for mistyping his name. I realised it only after I read your reply.
How did you meet Jimi? Must have been interesting to catch a glimpse into his world.
No problem on the misspelling of his name. I have friends that have heard me say his name a hundred times and they sometimes accidentally call him Jami.
I have been a huge Survivor fan since I was 10 years old, which is when the song Eye Of The Tiger came out in 1982. EOTT was sung by Survivor's original lead singer, Dave Bickler, who I've also spoken with on several occasions. But Survivor did so many shows for the EOTT tour, that Bickler developed vocal cord problems, and had to leave the band.
Jimi Jamison was hired as the new singer in 1984.
I love Dave Bickler's singing, but Jimi became my favorite singer of all time. Back in 1993 some friends of mine and myself drove 4 hours to go to one of Jamison's shows. Before the show started, my friends and I started speaking with the drummer in the band, we mentioned that we drove 4 hours to see the show, and he asked if we wanted to speak with Jimi. We of course said yes, and he let us on to the tour bus to speak to Jimi. We then spoke with him again on the bus after the show. A couple of weeks later he played in my hometown. We were able to get a note to him mentioning that we were there at the show, and would it be alright to speak with him again after the show, and he said that it was fine with him. So, we spoke with him backstage after the show, and he then gave us backstage passes and said that we were welcome to go backstage at any of his shows. He kept on giving me the updated backstage passes year after year, and so I was able to become friends with him. I wasn't one of his closest friends in the world, or anything like that, but I got to know him pretty well.
Not only is he my favorite singer of all time, but he was literally one of the nicest most kindhearted celebrities you could ever find. He treated his fans like they were kings, and he did a tremendous amount of work for charities, especially children's charities.
He was a great singer and person, and he never acted like he was a big deal, he was very modest!
