Maybe it will be a steady film that people do not rush to see, but will go to see, over a few weekends................According to The Sun on Thursday, Lana Del Rey, who has recorded songs for The Great Gatsby and Maleficent, is now being considered to do the theme for Bond 24. Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" was a chart-topping success after the release of the movie. "Producers know it has to be a great song with a killer vocal to rival the phenomenal success of Adele's Skyfall," a source told The Sun. Last month, it was reported that up-and-coming artist Sam Smith was being considered, and according to the report, he is still the leader with Del Rey close behind. "Sam seems like the favourite but Lana could definitely give him a run for his money.," The Sun reported. Smith disputed reports following an article that said he was in final talks to create the next movie's theme song.

I think Lana Del Ray would be a better choice than Sam Smith myself. I find the latter a bit bland.

Next weekend, there is only one picture in wide release next weekend, The Identical from Freestyle Releasing so expect a quiet weekend after Labor Day, which is typical. The Identical, which stars former Elvis Presley impersonator Blake Rayne, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd, is a what if story that wonders what would have happened if Elvis’s twin brother had lived. It’s not expected to do much business, but could be lifted by the faith-based crowd...........NM was almost 2nd on Tuesday, finishing a solid third on Tuesday: http://boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/ It might hold over well this coming weekend.

NM is still in 3rd with $500k. Doing about the same a ninja turtles weekday totals.

Foreign takes don't look like much so far if it can get to the uk that'd be the second biggest market for it.

A sequel will definitely be coming, and I am hoping it would end up being a trilogy with Pierce.

stayed steady with $500 k. Not a great prediction for this weekend, it's been a tough summer for Hollywood, guardians of the galaxy is the number one. Beating much better movies IMHO like XMen ,apes. Captain America. Some of the movies bombing I think could be hit 6 months earlier or 6 months later.

The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Seems about right for second weekend but it's so far beating bo mojos predictions.
My guess it will be right next to tmnt maybe better. Finishing 4th or 5th unless the elvis movie suddenly surges it didn't come close to Bo mojos prediction so far. But no mojo is betting the faith based crowd will flock to elvis like they did for gods not dead. I don't think the faith based crowd is even slightly aware of this movie.

Actually, BOM is predicting that it won't do as well as God's Not Dead or other faith-based movies that make their genre obvious (eg by putting the word "God" in the title).

you're right but Bo mojo placed Elvis at $5 million solely on drawing the faith crowd, it will make maybe half that. Its estimated at $500 k Friday

Deadline said it was a hard movie to place.
