Paramount will be distributing Pierce's action/fantasy The Moon and the Sun.

I assumed we would be knee deep in NM reviews by now.

Saturday, 8:01 AM: No longer a horse race, Legendary Pictures’ first pic under its Universal deal — the micro-budgeted horror film As Above/So Below – opened the best of the newcomers and will take the No. 4 spot over Relativity actioner The November Man, which dropped to No. 6 this morning. The horror film should scare in $8.7M to $9.2M for the three-day and $10.3M to $11.1M for the four-day, while the Pierce Brosnan actioner should shoot in with $7.5M to $7.7M for the three-day and $9.5M to $9.8M for the four-day to bring its five-day cume (it opened last Wednesday) to $11M+......... The November Man: $2.15M Friday....... $3,891,000 total so far.

We probably would have if it had been released everywhere at the same time, but a staggered release date means staggered reviews.

Pierce did a very nice job FBF. It needs better publicity and advertising to increase the box office and the poor reviews by the artsy Cr-egg loving critics kept people away who actually listen to those crumbs.

Deadline.com:by Anita Busch:"The November Man, which stars Pierce Brosnan in an actioner (why, oh why, do we have so many aged men still running around shooting ‘em up and dodging explosions?) will end up with around $7.5M to $7.7M for the three-day and $9.4M to $9.7M for the four-day. It sags to the No. 6 spot, however, distributor Relativity expects this one to continue to play because of its B+ CinemaScore. Pictures that carry that score usually have a 3.2 multiple. Hmmm, we’ll see." ....... The November Man (REL), 2,776 theaters / $2.17M Friday / $2.76M Sat. (+27%) / $2.6M Sun. (0%) / $2M Mon. (-25%) / 3-day cume: $7.6M / 4-day cume: $9.7M / Total cume: $11.5M (over 5 days) / Week 1

The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Posted two reviews . d**n shame it is not doing better but it may be this summers bad BO over all. I wonder if the movie market isn't shifting in a big way. Even the good big name movies are not making the money they should. NM was done well and for less then the Bond movies spends on tires.

If it can keep going despite all the crap and take $200 to $300 million total (Taken, Lucy, Bourne territory )it has a good shot a sequel IMO.

Looking trim, and elegantly dressed in very James Bondian suits (although he never wears a tie or a tux – that would be too obvious), he hasn’t missed a beat as an action hero. It’s mostly low-key fisticuffs and gun fights, but Brosnan looks cool, and gives the character an edge Bond wouldn’t be allowed to have, although it goes way too far in a scene where he almost kills a young woman just to make a point (see what I mean about the misogyny?). That’s a tough scene to come back from, even if you are as charming as Brosnan, and truth be told it stops the movie cold, as he’s never shown before this to be any kind of sadist, but rather someone you’re supposed to root for. It's mind-boggling anyone involved thought this was an effective moment. Rather, it's a disgrace considering this is supposed to be a "fun action flick". Nevertheless, Brosnan performs well otherwise, and could probably still play James Bond should the Broccolis ever decide to give him a one-off in between Daniel Craig Bond’s (which I’d actually love to see)."
Bet you that will be every Craigski's favourite scene, assuming they can allow themselves to praise anything with Brosnan in it.
I mentioned this scene in my review not sure if I'm not missing the reason behind it.
He has good reason to hate the guy. The girl is used like a pawn in a way bond never would.

BOM:"The November Man took sixth place with $7.7 million. That opening is noticeably lower than similar Labor Day releases like The American ($13.2 million), The Debt ($9.9 million) and Lawless ($10 million). Including its Wednesday and Thursday grosses, The November Man has now earned $9.4 million. The movie's audience was 55 percent male and 83 percent over the age of 25. They awarded it a solid "B+" CinemaScore. Still, it would be surprising if this ultimately wound up over $25 million."

Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, and CinemaScore seem to indicate The November Man pleased the target audience.
