Your instinct would prove correct, Kristatos. Craig’s character was a sad loner, desperate to be loved. He's a hot, sweaty mess. The performance was very finely layered and executed. But it is grim and uncomfortable. It certainly isn’t for everyone and I’ll likely only revisit this film a few times over the course of my life (it’s beautifully shot, written and acted and has value to me, but it is a difficult watch so re-watches will come at great distances).

I don't mind Craig outside Bond (he was great in Knives Out), but this movie sounds a bit grim and depressing for my tastes.
That's what Dan does best, considering his artistic choices perhaps he should be placed on suicide watch?

Not my cup of tea for sure. I have never have rewatched any of Craig's Bond outings. No joy in them.

Eon Productions has opened an official James Bond 007 venue in Mayfair, London at the Burlington Arcade. The venue affords visitors the opportunity to enjoy viewing iconic film props, shop for official merchandise and indulge in Bond-inspired cocktails. Among the attendees for the opening were Bond actresses Carole Ashby, Caroline Munro and Martine Beswick......more living in the past for Broccoli! Image Image

That's all 007 is any more, just a brand for possers who want to cosplay as Bond.

Precisely Kater, though to be honest I was thinking more of that man-child on YouTube who spends a king's ransom on ugly clothes which he displays on creepy maniqins in his murder basement because Dan Craig once tried on something similar.

Good! Unfortunately they'll just throw a ton of money at a different auteur who will try to reinvent the wheel.

True, and yet it spoke volumes. We've been getting these little "nothing going on but the rent" pieces for some time from both the EON camp and Amazon, why? Why do we need both studios to tell us they're up to nothing? I'd say we have a battle on our hands, maybe not a knock down drag out fight, but a light sparring match at this point. EON for whatever reason don't want to progress, perhaps Amazon are making too many demands and EON want to let them and everyone else know they're in charge? Meanwhile, Amazon want EON to get on with it hence this little jab letting everyone know in no uncertain terms who's responsible for the delay.

Amazon MGM Studios global head Jennifer Salke recently gave an update on the franchise after Daniel Craig took his final bow as 007 in No Time to Die (2021), as the UK’s EON Productions continues to maintain the majority of creative control.

“There are a lot of ideas [about potential actors] that have popped up that I thought are interesting,” she told The Guardian. “I think there are a lot of different ways we can go. We have a good and close relationship with Eon and Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson]. We are not looking to disrupt the way those wonderful films are made. For us, we are taking their lead.”

Salke added, “The global audience will be patient. We don’t want too much time between films, but we are not concerned at this point.”-------1 film since 2015 and this IDIOT is NOT concerned?! This is how Hollywood is run, by morons, with NO clue what the public cares about! Broccoli is more enthused about Cr-egg's Othello then she is about the Bond franchise!--------"Although Daniel Cr-egg may no longer be James Bond, he’s retained a strong working relationship with EON producer Barbara Broccoli, steward of the 007 series. The duo have spent quite some time now looking for funding to produce what is being dubbed as Daniel Cr-egg’s ‘dream project’ – a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello set in an American military barracks in Iraq."---- :hair: This garbage won't be in the top 5 grosses the week it opens in the USA if he ever gets his way and the film is actually made! A BOMB waiting to happen and a SURE financial LOSER!

I suspect this will be modestly budgeted. Especially after Joker: Folie A Deux became the latest in a string of big-budget flops. If the sequel to a billion-dollar hit can't make its money back, they're not going to throw cash at a less commercial project (though Shakespeare films do have an inbuilt audience - it'll probably make a decent amount of money purely from high school English teachers taking their classes to watch it).

I shut off watching the first Joker film over the weekend. I thought it was unwatchable. Garbage.

I suspect as much as well, not only for the reasons Kris mentions above, but also because Babz' track record outside of Bond is well... let's say less than stellar.

Is the opposite of a dynamic duo a passive pairing?
