Have you heard this John Barry tune before? It was originally composed by Barry for a 1967 Sunsilk Shampoo Ad.

Great tune and sounds very much like Barry.

Cinemablend's Mike Reyes: I Have Mixed Feelings On Hugh Jackman As Bond: On one hand, I could have totally seen Hugh Jackman stepping into the world of James Bond; and if it wasn’t for the next 007’s age requirement I still could. That’s not a knock on the man, because at 55 years old the dude still rocks at dusting up his enemies and dressing to the nines. I also think that if we’d gotten a Jackman era of Bond adventures starting with Casino Royale, it would have been a hell of a ride. Image

Given how the subsequent films turned out (with the possible exception of Skyfall), I think Jackman dodged a bullet.

David Leigh:The James Bond Dossier: Bond 26 will be the first in the series to be made after Amazon's acquisition of MGM. While Wilson’s son Gregg may assume a more prominent role at Eon, there’s also the possibility that Broccoli and Wilson decide to sell their Bond interests. With Amazon’s acquisition of MGM in 2022, the streaming giant now holds a 50% stake in the franchise, making it a likely candidate for a potential purchase. Amazon’s entry as the new owner would bring substantial consequences for the future of the James Bond franchise. It is likely we would see a departure from Eon’s established approach, which would impact the franchise profoundly but any shifts in ownership or leadership within Eon Productions will send shockwaves throughout the fanbase. https://www.thejamesbonddossier.com/fil ... return.htm

Not sure what to think about this. If Amazon/MGM buys Bond outright, it could mean we get a new Bond film quicker. But on the downside, it could become just another corporate property that makes us think "you know, the Daniel Craig films weren't so bad after all".

In hindsight, it's the best of Craig's films, but when it was first released, I remember coming out of the cinema feeling faintly depressed. I didn't go in wanting to hate it, and I was willing to give the new guy a chance. I did agree that a more grounded approach was needed after the excesses of DAD, but it just didn't feel like a Bond film to me.

I think Amazon would jump at out right ownership however they don’t really need it on paper they own more bond movie rights with thunderball and casino Royal than the broccolis
. But I could see a bidding war with a few other studios who like to get in on the bond world.

It really depends on who is hired to manage it . Including the broccoli in this and EON is only a production company. Danjaq owns the rights which is split between the broccoli family and the studio who bought the rights from Salzman. I think secretly Babs wanted the studio that had the rights to go bankrupt for the Saltsman family would get the rights back. But there’s no chance of that with Amazon.

With MGW gone and Cr-egg no longer a factor, the delaying by Broccoli is deliberate. We know she has no interest in going forward after signing off on Cr-egg's Bond being vaporized. A buyout might be exactly her game plan. The ONLY setback for her would be no longer producing anything of value in Hollywood, which she craves for the attention and accolades.

Mgw kind of got what made bond popular from 1962-2002. He was also responsible for some of the low points in the series as well because he was too self aware of the series.
Mgw was not a fan of Craig. His kids seemed to want to go another direction before skyfall not saying that family would argue with success, success meaning big enough paydays.

I think Babs is the far bigger problem , she didn’t want to work with Amazon to begin with. I think mgm using the promise of the on hold bond movie to sell the studio probably irked her. Her partner stabbed her in the back. But then again she never treated mgm as a partner either. She was so slow to make the movies mgm fell on hard times, that if there had been a bond movie in 2004 or 2005 they might have avoided .

She is rich enough she is comfortable, but if she does sell either she believes the bond series is done the future is catching up too fast and Craig series was it. Or she truly has no ideas and no interest. Although as soon as she sells she is done in Hollywood . Unless she can get Apple shares or enough Disney stock to sit on the board .

Yeah, Brofeld was his idea, apparently.

Precisely, the day she sells Bond is the day she retires from film making, which is why I don't see her selling the franchise, unless she really is looking for a giant payday before fading into oblivion. More likely I see her handing Bond production off to the next generation while maintaining a "supervisory role" as she produces her bankruptcy inducing passion projects.

Coral’s John Hill said: “We have pulled the plug on our next James Bond betting following strong interest in Aaron Taylor-Johnson. We will let the dust settle for now, but it could be that Daniel Craig's replacement has been found.”-------Broccoli gets free publicity and must be laughing at all of this speculation when she knows there won't be a choice until she sells her stake or passes it on to her nephew. To say the next Bond requires 10-12 years is ridiculous because she would be 76 by then so who is kidding who here?

think a few things are happening at once: EoN wielding big d!CK energy ; they are sending a clear and direct message to Amazon that they won't be rushed (make no mistake: any rumours you may've heard that there are troubles in the boardrooms at Amazon HQ isn't exaggerations, EoN and other producers have crossed swords with these guys. The streamer has got off to rocky starts with many of their collaborators). Then there's Babs doing Othello with Craig. They've opened a shell company for this production, so it seems they've got some or all financing together. Also their director of choice has gone back to finish his trilogy in the sand. When he's finished shooting in late '25/early '26 the script will for B26 will be ready and shortly thereafter the casting will take place. New Bond will be announced in the latter part of that year. Early 2027 shoot. October release.
Will Babs sell before then. Guess anything can happen, but that's not what anyone is saying. As far as anyone knows she's in for the foreseeable future. Mikey is up in the air. If they were ready to move sooner he was on board. Not so clear what his plans are now. I think good guess is he takes a backseat role. Like more of a Cubby consulting role like he did during GE.
