Movie critics on NYC tv said it was dull and not a good take on the subject, plus bed bugs in the theatres throughout NYC put a damper on sitting on those seats. :cuss:

Backbeat is the best version of the Beatles' early years, if you haven't seen it yet.

Five years of Craig as Bond? Five years since Barbara took a charming, iconic long running instituion that gave many people lots of pleasure and tossed it into the dustbin. :martini:

The pans are very distant, if they *are* in the works. People on the fan boards like to think that it's magically going to happen sooner than that.

And five years ago Brosnan was dumped like a worn out shoe. He deserved better for what he did to reinvigorate the franchise.

I say we sick FBF on Eon after the way they treated Pierce Brosnan. He will know what to do when he invades their sanctuary. :fight:

Being a modern day James Bond and the James Bond for the younger audience like me, Pierce deserves a lot better than just having the only excellent and classic Bond he has which is GoldenEye.

Everyday Bond 23 slips further and further away. If Craig gets a few successes under his belt I think he might renounce the role before Eon is ready to name a successor. If Craig wants to continue to find work he has got assure the studio hiring him he is indeed available and not bound by previous obligations. Besides he might need a new contract after all this time. If so it wouldn't make sense to bother bringing him back, aside from Babs obsession.

Problem with Babs is she got control of Bond because she was Cubby's blood heir. Eon isn't much of production company when they have 4 projects they haven touched because Bond is in limbo.

And we as loyal fans deserved better than some of the films his contribution gave us.
Aside from GoldenEye, were his films really that good. Certainly not alot of TND, and nearly all of TWINE. DAD was entertaining, and probably his second best portrayal of the character.
I liked Pierce as Bond, and would've welcomed a fifth from him. But it wasn't to be. Let's be honest he was starting to look old in DAD, and with the injury he sustained during filming, could EON risk it two or three years down the track? With the possiblity of the star out of action, it can cost a film millions for delays like that.
It's just common sense.

What are the four projects Mazer?
Though I do find myself agreeing with you on this one. With Bond 23 stalled, why not make something else?
Obviously they can afford to sit back and do jack.

I'm a little worried with this idea. Clearly you haven't thought it through bj.
Afterall, FBF would cast Steven Seagal as Bond. Is that what you want? :o He'd rather see The Hobbit over a Bond film :? No Bond fan would ever think that way. His username is FormerBondFan. No, he's not the man for the job.
And even if you do send someone, what will EON do? Not alot.

I'm just making a fun of Seagal for being such a lousy actor. 8) And seriously though, I would prefer someone unknown, and Cavill is fine with me.

LOL. I can't believe you actually thought he was serious. I suppose you think he really wants Kenny G to do a Bond theme as well?
Captain Nash wrote:He'd rather see The Hobbit over a Bond film :? No Bond fan would ever think that way.
I'd rather see The Hobbit than another "Bond film" like QOS, especially now that it looks like Peter Jackson is going to be directing. If I thought that EON had learned anything from the (artistic) failure of QOS, my attitude might be different, but I can't see anything that suggests they have.

Brosnan was the most beloved and widely accepted Bond since Sean Connery look what happened to him. Craig's turn is coming up soon

People who once defended his Stallone Bond are already changing their minds about him and when he is no longer in favor he will be quickly dumped on. He isn't Sean Conner defining the role he is a retread of a tired franchise using action heroes for traction instead of James Bond. Not to distant future his movies will be scorned. The Non-Bond era will be over soon!

Oh Captain Nash. Common sense would tell you that Brosnan was more than sufficient with his portrayal as Bond and it was silly scripts (Die Another Day), and lousy characters (examples: Christmas Jones, Eliot Carver) that plagued the Brosnan era. That is, if the Brosnan era is to labeled "plagued".

At the risk of digression, I must say that this brings me to what I don't get about criticism against Roger Moore. As if Roger Moore coordinated the "slide whistle" stunt sequence in The Man with the Golden Gun, created the Jaws character, or wrote the Moonraker script. Roger did nothing more than work with the materials given to him. Besides, Roger Moore showed that he was more than capable of playing a straight, heroic role in The Saint. It was the producers and the creative team of EON that made Bond silly in the 70's and 80's...

...which brings make to the Brosnan era. If the Brosnan era is to labeled "plagued", "silly", or what have you then the blame should be directed at Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. They captain the Bond ship, and there are ultimately responsible for the direction of the franchise.

Now, the notion that Brosnan was beginning to look too old. I think he looked fine in his last outing as Bond, and he looked like he could have played the role as long as Moore had and it would have been fine. Besides, even if he was looking to old I'd rather have an "old looking Bond" then some one who has never looked or acted like James Bond.
