Elvis for me as well, being a huge fan all of my life. Zu Zu has gotten accustomed to hearing his CDs played and she also is a fan. Bond did impact Hollywood since it's 1962 inception though and that has lasted 48 years and counting. MJ's first anniversary of his death was nothing compared to that of Elvis, even now.

During the summer of 2002, the anniversary of Elvis's passing was pretty big. And as for MJ's passing anniversary, I was expecting his name to be in the trending list on yahoo frontpage, but he's not there.

Elvis. He was a bigger and had a bigger impact on the world for longer. MJ's last 20 years were marred by being unimportant, with average to no songs and then in scandal with him being too fond of young boys and his server allergy to girls. And looking weird. While I respect MJ there were no fan driven fantasies about him being alive I think in years to come he will be remembered better and there will be more tributes to him. I think we need some truthful tell all books to clear the air. Was he too fond of boys or stuck in the mind of child? The former creeps me out. I can deal with Elvis deep frying a banana ham sandwich, shooting a TV, and buying Cadillacs like no tomorrow I can't deal with a guy who wanted sleepovers with anyone but female groupies.

Correct Omega. MJ MIGHT have been really huge IF he never touched his skin with bleach, or made his face look like a mask, and had he lived a normal life with adult women(not that fake Lisa Marie fiasco marriage), I believe he would have made a bigger mark. Elvis has had fans visiting Graceland for 33 years since his death. Bond though, was also a cultural phenomenon spawned in 1962 and became a lasting worldwide entity. The problem has been only 6 films in the last 21 years vs. 16 films in the first 27 years.

It's quite sad that Jackson hated his looks so much that he kept on having surgery.

In the end, MJ is like a Shakespearean tragic hero IMO.

MJ was tragic no doubt. I think he did more for the world if only in terms of breaking down barriers. He did a lot for race relations in the US and around the world, his legacy will be much bigger as time passes and people remember how thing were and how things changed when he came on the scene. The plastic surgery was tragic I hate to think of what kind of family life he had. If my kids even breath a words about cosmetic surgery you can bet I'd be there ina flash to talk them out of it. He wsa good looking back young man he coudln't seem to accept this for some reason and his family should have been there for him to make him comfortable in his own skin and by getting the help he needed before it did damage to him mentally or physically.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.

Listening to The History Of Howard Stern(yeah yeah,I know, I don't agree with everything he says)..and Howard was talking about meeting MJ..this was probably early 90's, right when he started to turn into a white woman  . But he was strange then.Howard said that he almost thought about calling 911 because it looked like MJ's face was melting!

Michael Jackson was enabled by those in his circle and they share some blame but his tortured relationship with his father did him in, in the end. Sad and tragic, as was Elvis, who also drugged himself to death.

True Blood is becoming idiotic week after week. In Twilight, why are vampires alive during the daytime and not destroyed? Since when do they play baseball and attend proms? Hollywood is churning out the worst trash and the studios are all copying each other. I have had it with this vampire/werewolf nonsense. It's DONE.

I only watch True Blood when AT&T has weekends with free HBO..the last episode I saw was the one whereBill turned Lorena's head completely around while they were having sex. That was meant to be shocking but it was just OTT(over the top), to be quite honest.

I saw that scene. Without the nudity, nobody would watch. Patrick Swayzee's brother played a drunken wolf tonight. What becomes of Bella Swan's parents at the end of the books?

I *believe* Bella's parents are still alive at the end of the series. I've forgotten most of what I read(and it wasn't that long ago! )

How about a feature film adaptation of MJ's Thriller? Would you prefer to see it?

I seem to recall that Dracula was not destroyed by sunlight in the original novel, that innovation only came in with one of the innumerable movie adaptations.
