Wow a cool new emoticon.
Kudos for this one guys.

The only news on the Bond front seems to be Mendes is still waiting in the wings to direct, and EON are backing Warner in the MGM debacle.
Craig seems to be having no problem finding work in the interim, being mooted as a possible lead in 'The girl with the dragon tattoo'. So he'll be ready to go when Bond 23 finally goes into production.
And on a final note, welcome to the forum Harvey Danish. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Or she plays one on TV. You have to have a big ego to be a performer, but I'm sure it's partly an act.bjmdds wrote:Lady Gag-Gag was just on Larry King. She is a severely disturbed individual who most definitely believes she is something special for the world to see.

Hell I am encouraging WB too. May not be the smartest move for the Wonder Twins since everything I hear is not slanted towards a WB takeover. It would be nice to butter up the new partner before hand for more favorable terms but they are not in the same position the Hobbit was in where production was really ready to go after 2 years of extensive preparation. Honestly when Eon gets back on it they are just about starting from scratch. Maybe Mendes was playing a role seeming like he might stay on board, although he is doing himself more favors then them. I also wonder if WB isn't exerting some influences over things, they are the big guns in Hollywood and one of the few solvent studios with billions in the bank spend.
From the investor point of view they are better off not accepting the WB bid, they can raise the capital necessary to kick start production themselves without signing away their most lucrative assets. Eon might like WB as partner better than a group of stung investors who will be examining every contract trying to squeeze out more profit.

Yup, Fincher is direction the U.S. version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Mind you, I don't think Daniel Craig looks a thing like Mikael Blomkvist.I've read Dragon Tattoo and Craig is not who I picture.Craig seems to be having no problem finding work in the interim, being mooted as a possible lead in 'The girl with the dragon tattoo'. Another poorly cast role MP? I have no idea what that story is but if you say so, Hollywood does not get the fact that Cr-egg is no draw at the box office. I wonder what the returning pastry Mr. Danish thinks about that thought?

Harve, been away this week? Is Connery your favorite Bond or do you have another? Of the 6, where do you rank the Cr-eggster?Harvey danish wrote:out of the loop for a few days.. but back and thank you ever so much BJMDDS for the warm welcome.. i hope to contribute to the forum and post relevant feedback, opinions, and news that is worthy.........

Q, would WB can Cr-egg and go proper?Mazer Rackham wrote:Hell I am encouraging WB too. May not be the smartest move for the Wonder Twins since everything I hear is not slanted towards a WB takeover. There are 3 books- The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest(which I just finished this afternoon). Daniel Craig is so wrong for Blomkvist it's not even funny.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yes, but given Craig's track record in non-Bond films(not to beat that dead horse...) is casting him as Blomkvist(or whatever they Americanize it to) wise? Just sayin'.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
reasonable question BJMDDS... I most enjoy Connery as Bond as the first to establish the character, style, manner and suave debonair mature and setting the standard that lured me in at an earlier age.. as you may recall there was a varied and plentiful amount of movies and schlock put out in the mid-60's - the mid latter 80's that kept and had a hold on movie aficionado's as myself and I suspect yourself if you are of that era. I recall the series / franchise establishing a following like cult that even today the newer and younger fan's / viewers par take and embrace. No doubt undisputed Connery set the pace and the tone, again the style and format following where others chosen to portray and make their own the part Connery established, though some were Ok, some were worthless,(Simon Templar himself Roger Dodger Moore who if his finger nails were dirty called for a break to have a pedicure as well as oxygen being older than what was called for), Dalton had some potential but smelled the crap of movie politics early on and to my pleasure was shuffled out quickly, others marginal but another stand out was Brosnon.....whom in my opinion brought as close to Connery the looks, style, manner, suave debonair and take on the character that picked up the tone / pace all of us who are fan's have come to except and set as the norm. The franchise has gone through the last several decades with slight variations introducing varied actors. The woman, the ladies ............well BEEE G where all hot and if I would toss them all out of my bed it would be because there is more room on the floor to frolick... Daniel Craig....OK... if selected for another Franchise and start up on another type of character or something other than Bond -a - sun would with his edgy style and portrail / looks work and possibly develope a base as that of Bourne.........but as Ronald Reagon said that potato spelling guy Daniel Quayle ... "you are no Jack kennedy".....................well Daniel Craig" you are no James Bond"............ anyone see the connection with the name Daniel there??........... In conclusion until there is a return to the Connery / Brosnon character portral of the part in question the opposition will remain vocal and unsettled.........

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Iron Man 2 is going to pass Qos record this weekend when the over seas Bo comes in, it cost less, runs long and has a better supporting cast, I hope the Bond people look around at how some of the better made and more successful movies are being produced.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Tried to watch Alex O'Loughlin's Three Rivers TV show last night. "Meh" is a good way to describe it. Jeremy Northam has a medical drama,Miami Medical(also on CBS and like O'Loughlin's show, cancelled.) But Northam's show is the better of the two. Two would-be Bonds, two shows. O'Loughlin comes off as too wet behind the ears(just wet in general, tbh) for my liking.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Like James Bond swiftly stealing a woman from her spouse, Daniel Craig has reportedly snagged the number one contender spot to star in the Hollywood adaptation of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," according to TheWrap.com.
The film, based on the first novel in the Millennium trilogy by the late Swedish author Stieg Larsson, is a crime thriller about a journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, searching for a missing girl with the aid of dragon-tatooed hacker Lisbeth Salander.
Adaptations of the three novels, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest," have already been made in Larsson's native Sweden, starring Michael Nyqvist as Blomkvist. "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" has circulated around the indie circuit for some time in the States.
Brad Pitt was initially reported by various sources to be the top candidate for the Blomkvist role in the English adaptation, which IMDB reports is slated for release in 2012. But according to TheWrap.com, "Dragon" director David Fincher ("Fight Club") is more partial to casting the erstwhile 007 as his lead.
Fincher is slated to direct all three adaptations of the trilogy, and he and Craig are reportedly taking a meeting in Los Angeles within the next few days.
