Well maybe they've decided to get their moneys worth.
Granted their involvement outside of Bond has usually been sparse, but perhaps that's good business sense.
However, if you look at how many films EON made with the Bond actors during their tenure in the role things look different.
Sean Connery made five films between 1962 and 1968, then returned for DAF in 1970. That's a seven year relationship and six films.
George Lazenby as we all know made only one film. Though was offered a contract that would've seen him play Bond from 1969 till the mid eighties. I believe it was a twelve picture deal!
Roger Moore played Bond over twelve years and made seven films with EON
Timothy Dalton had a three picture contract. But due to ongoing legal issues was released from the deal after only two movies.
Pierce Brosnan also had a three picture deal, with an option for a fourth film. His contract was seen out, and the option taken to make the fourth picture. From 1994 till 2004 a period of ten years Brosnan made four Bond films with Eon.
Daniel Craig was given a four picture contract in 2005 and thus far has made two Bond films over the course of near on five years.
As he is contracted to EON, and they're also making use of him, I see no real problem with this.
Other than bj and katies somewhat unusual hatred of both parties.
Other than Connery, I don't think any of the other actors felt misused or underused by Eon.
Yet another case of clutching at straws I feel.
