He does not belong in this role any longer and hopefully MGM will tell MGW and Barbara what is needed.
If we are going to start generalising like this, we could also say Brosnan's reviews were tremendously bad, and Craig's second film has made more than Brosnan's second outing at the BO.

And you keep on this unhealthy obsession with Craig being the reason for Bond films being naff, but the problems lie with the scriptwriters and producers. Brosnan was not a bad Bond, but his films were shocking. I get the impression you will tolerate any old crap EON churn out, as long as there is an actor playing the role that you find suitable.

I am beginning to wonder whether you would have enjoyed both CR and QoS, had Jackman played the role instead.....

If it looks like Bond, if it acts like Bond, I will enjoy it. The problem is, Craig is neither. The reboot was wrong, no matter who was in the role. I like time lines moving forward in a franchise, not suddenly starting over after 40+ years with some old rookie who looks washed up, not fresh, and depressed. Forster ruined the film TBM. I told you that day one when he was hired. Jackman, Owen, Purefoy would have made these films more tolerable to me but right now I have issues with Eon's choices:actor, director, writer. ALL are hideous!

I agree. QOS would have sucked whoever played Bond. CR would have been tolerable, but I still would have had issues with the reboot.

Ok, fair comment and one I partly agree with.

The choice of director and writers were pretty bad, and I'm particularly annoyed to hear EON decided to go with Forster over Tony Scott (if that rumour is true).

WHY on earth choose Forster after The Kite Runner to boot? NO experience in this genre, too liberal world viewed for a Bond film, and too darn political as well. HORRID choice.

That's the trouble with the world today. To many people telling other people what to do.
Why can't people just live there lives? Make up there own minds?
The world has gotten overly politicaly correct, and I for one am sick and tired of it.
If I want to eat a big fat greasy burger, that's my choice.
If I want to have a few drinks at the end of the day, that's my choice.
If I want to celebrate Christmas, that's my choice.
If I like James Bond in all his forms that's again, my choice.
End of rant :cuss:

Twilight budget=$37 million; it took in $182 million in the USA so far. TBMQOS budget=$230 million;it has taken in $167 million in the USA. Big money did not equate to big results for the money spent for Eon. Go back to the drawing board. Reboot Broccoli and Wilson. :D

 [Jaw drops] They passed him over! Jez, he did Spy Game and that is way more realistic than all of the other spies out there put together. Including Bourne and 24

But why does this matter kati...sorry I mean bj?
By that reckoning The Blair Witch Project (1999) a low budget film that brought in millions of dollars suggests that TWINE (1999) was a massive flop, compared to the money spent /returned.
It makes no difference.

You've clearly not been reading some of my posts over at Mi6 carl.
That's understandable.
But I was saying only last week that I had recently viewed DAD and even enjoyed it quite alot. Not saying I think it's a masterpiece, but I have been able to watch it lately as over the top silliness. Though it can at times be quite fun.
As for the rest of the Brosnan tenure well, I must admit I never had a problem with Pierce as Bond. At times he was a very good Bond, and then sometimes he wasn't. I put that down to the material he was given.
To bad alot of people seem to name GoldenEye as his best performance.
Yes, I like the Pierce Brosnan years, tie straightening included.

I forgot to mention this! The San Diego Opera is doing Tosca this winter.Yes, the same one from QOS. I've thought about going, because seeing a bit of it(in QOS) got me interested, and also,I've never been to the opera.

Pierce was a great match for Bond and he actually did save the series. If he could have done what he had wanted with Bond I think he would give Connery a run for his money.

I just saw him as a guest on that show yesterday. I didn't know Craig got so nervous around the media. He said his palms were sweaty to Jon Stewart from nerves. He seems different in real life from how cold and serious he was in CR.

I think he's quite a private person and views the publicity associated with stardom something of a chore. I can understand that. I don't think I'd like having my face on every chat show either.
