Friend because he was pretty close to get the role in 2005, he was only 24 at the time...

I've started seeing some internet chatter about Luke Evans, who played Bard the Bowman in the Hobbit trilogy. That would make him at least the third Hobbit cast member to be talked about as a potential Bond, along with Aidan Turner and Richard Armitage (though at 44, Armitage might be a bit too old by now).
Armitage would have been GREAT choice decade ago. :007:

I see Friend as more of a Dalton type Bond do you agree?

Another one who looks the part. I wouldn't count out a Luke Evans either.

It's hard for me to choose between Friend and Turner. For me the person born to play James Bond is Clive Owen but that ship has sailed a long time ago. I think Michael Fassenbender but he falls in the to old/busy category.

Yeah I know but I think he wouldn't be in the running now. With that being said and this might get me banned from this site. If Friend gets the role I hope he gets on the same workout plan and diet as Craig.

Clive Owen was my first choice but when the news broke of who the final choices were and Mcmahon was included and Owen wasn't I wanted Mcmahon because I was a huge Nip/Tuck fan and his character Christian Troy had many Bond qualities well dressed well groomed charming and a lady killer

I've read so many rumuors about who were the final four and who was who's choice. I know the final four consisted of Craig obviously and Cavill but the other two are up for debate. I've seen Goran Vinjsc, Alex O'Loughlin, Julian Mcmahon, Sam Worthington, and even Ewan Stewart mentioned as possible final four candidates for Bond. I actually think any of those names other than Ewan Stewart would have done well in the Bond role. Casino Royale was set up to the point where even if you change the main character (and many believe they actually did) it would've been well received. While I don't hate Daniel Craig I think he's been fortunate to have three movies that appeal to the masses (Quantam being the exception) who was your favorite before Craig was cast?

Cavill would have and would be a great choice. Anyone who had any doubt about Cavill needs to watch The Man From Uncle. Do you think there's any change Cavill would get Bond or do you think with Superman his chances with Bond or EON's chances with him are done?

James Purefoy. He screen tested for Goldeneye, and is a huge Bond fan. He wouldn't have considered the role beneath him.

NEW ZEALAND actors Antony Starr & Martin Henderson were in EONs list too...

As far as Bond #7 goes how much do you think age matters as opposed to looks going back to Connery and Moore Moore looked younger than Connery when he took the role in Live and Let Die despite being 3 years older than Connery. Is it possible that someone who is older but looks younger could actually be cast as Bond #7 as Moore was as Bond #3? There's plenty of guys older or around Craigs age that look younger than him.
