Be sure to let us know the minute that happens, so we can have a good laugh. Ha ha, QOS lost out to a movie starring the Daughter of Godber, an actress whose name on a poster is tantamount to writing "THIS MOVIE IS s**t" in 72pt fluorescent pink letters.
Rhona Mitra?Yeah, her movies are a bit, hell they're a lot, s***. She was in Doomsday which was a bad mash up of 28 Days Later and Mad Max.

What was the total worldwide DVD sale units for CR and what are the current totals, worldwide, for TBMQOS?

I was actually thinking of Kate Beckinsale. She was in the first Underworld, so I assumed she was in the sequel too.

Edit: as an American, you probably wouldn't have got the "Daughter of Godber" reference - Godber was the character played by her father, the late Richard Beckinsale, in the British sitcom Porridge, written by Dick Clement and Ian le Frenais, who recycled at least one of the gags from that show ("From here?") in NSNA.

Oh... my bad. I just remembered that Kate was only in the first Underworld movie

I like Kate. I enjoy her flick Serendipity. I did not know she came from an acting family though.

Quark sold under 40k for its 11th week. Total sales around 2.4m.

Since inquiring minds want to know ;) : Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is at 1.9m total selling about 120k in its fourth week.

There are some movies that are preforming as badly as Quark also out for around the same time, Australia & Role Models have total sales just scrapping by with 1.6m & 1.9m. But considering their BO take they are selling well.

Quark with under 60k in week 12 sold slightly more than Twister and less than Hotel for Dogs and Transformers.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is at over 2m total selling about 70k in its fourth week.

Well, well. Quark had a small revival. There must have been sale that week because a few older title shot up the list as well.
Quark sold over 120k for week 13, that is not too shabby. Total sales are not north of 2.5m.

Surprisingly Gran Torino took first place again, its 2 week total is over 4m sold.

Taken came back for more, its 5 week total is slightly over 4m

Nothing can stop Twilight, its sales are almost 9m.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans out sold quark with almost 160k, bringing its 6 week total to 2.1m.

Paul Blart Mall Cop
secured its lead over Quark with nearly 3m sold.

Some of the old titles to make a comeback were

Code: Select all

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
The Sandlot
Da Vinci Code
The Holiday
Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases
Dark Knight
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
Top Gun

Quark's small revival is over. It dipped to under 70k for its 14th week. Total sales around 2.6m.

Gran Torino has some legs on it selling over 300k, bringing its 3rd week total to over 4.3m sold.

Taken keeps taking, its 6th week sold slightly under 200k bringing the total to slightly over 4.1m

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans has a startling reversal of fortunes and has dropped off the charts  , meaning it likely only sold around 20 to 30 k

Honestly I expected Quark to sell around the pace of Taken and Torino, which wouldn't be that good for a Bond film. But it is good brisk business.

Do you think the TV Premiere of CaSony Royale had anything to do with that?

Could have but i doubt it. It was probably a father's day sale or something. besides it was the wrong week for the boost, June 5th was the week it first premiered.

I'd be interested to know what the rating for Cr were, Burn Notice got 6m, I believe that is the figure being used. I could assume that CR did as well, however i suspect since nobody is talking about the probably did worse.

I would be willing to hazard a guess that under 3 million watched Casino Royale. Unless Neielsen does not count movies in their ratings which to me seems ridiculous.

I suppose it would depend on which edition. After all there are so many.

I am a little hazy on this, I think it sold over 1 million in the UK, probably the same in Europe and 4 or 5 million in the USA and Canada since 2007. The rest of the world is a question mark

I would guess counting every edition it is probably under 8 million dvd and blu-ray sold.

If anyone has more solid number please post them.

The DVD was on the internet months before it was for sale in stores. I don't think that is the cause of poor sales that's the movies fault there.

Oh noes! Quark slipped off the charts! Now it sleeps with the Lycans  What an uninspiring run.
It probably sold between 10 to 30k for its 15th week.

Strong titles are still selling strong. Some older titles have made a summertime comeback.

All these many weeks our pal Craig and his cinematic masterpiece Quark have been off the charts, literally. Bringing to fruition the Bond 22 curse.

Fast and Furious is on pace to step past Quark

I forwarded proof of these assertions to the admin as well as the global mods. If they ever update the site maybe they will include this too.

Then it'll be in its natural habitat, along with all those crappy straight-to-DVD action movies starring former WWE wrestlers.
