This might cheer up the PC (Pro-Craig) I read a report this afternoon where the author postulated that Bond would be recession proof.

Because movies are recension proof: (Cheap entertainment.) 
Because Bond is known brand name:
Because it is a sequel:
Because it is the last big movie of 2008:
Because lukewarm to bad reviews will not hurt it:

He did admit that bad word-of-mouth could affect it. Although that seems to go against his other points. Another one of those "It can't possibly fail, unless it does" predictions.

He is wrong on several points but it's not his specialty. I'll not comment on it, leave it as is.

Just seen this review, which is very praising of the film.................but why i'am posting it is to prove further the
contradicting reviews on QOS so far...

i.e this reviewer says there is humour in this film, and also that there are some meaty dialogue scenes........

But i was dissapointed to read that some of the action scenes were somewhat blighted by over fast quick close-up editing.

Blimey...........i've said it once and i'll say it again........when i go to see a film i want to be able to see whats going on,
and not to be brainwashed by hundreds of quick film flashes...........when will the directors of today stop doing this.....or
is it me?

Oh yes, the reviewer did say that DC 'mumbles' some of his lines (oops i shouldn't of mentioned that bit)

Mumbles "some" of his lines? In a Batman film, he would play the MUMBLER, Batman's newest arch enemy, someone who talks but no one knows what the heck he is saying. Craig's days as Bond are dwindling as TBM gets ready for it's big Friday release and Nash, Sweeney, and EA, etc., can all sit through the short film and tell us all: or

Craig is hard to follow. It took subtitles to get the whole CR dialog.

I have many problems with Craig's performance as 007, but I have to say, difficulty understanding what he's saying isn't one of them.

I bunged both of these shocking reviews for QOS in the DC section. The first one is a comprehensive review so beware if you are trying to avoid too much detail. Interesting stuff though. Rye admits to looking at his watch and hoping the film would end so he can go out to eat. He says the plane sequence is stupider, I'll say that again, STUPIDER than anything in a Moore or Brosnan Bond. The editing is too fast, whole scenes don't make any sense, Gemma A is rubbish, it rips off previous Bond films in the same way DAD did. Craig is given no scenes to shine and is the 'Terminator' Bond. 1/10 overall.

It seems like the critics have finally caught up with many of the points we've made here in the last couple of years about the loss of Bond's identity. If you have an opinion it eventually comes back into fashion.

It looks like Eon have struggled with the script. They have resorted to by the numbers action scenes.

Craig's miserable Bond seemed to be popular in Casino Royale, as was the rejection and reworking of the Bond motifs, so Eon have naturally repeated their new formula in Quantum Of Solace. Only for critics to say they are now bored of it.

A couple of renowned, respected members of MI6 and CBn have already seen it and given their reviews. Both thought it was excellent (Sisillius and Zorin).

I won't be seeing it until Friday so cannot comment yet (but this review doesn't make me feel 100% confident right now)....

I won't be seeing it until Friday so cannot comment yet (but this review doesn't make me feel 100% confident right now)....

Sometimes there is so much excitement over going to one of those events ,the adrenaline if you will, makes for a euphoric feeling. It is an experience to go to a special showing.

People can hate a film coming out and love it on the second viewing and the opposite certainly is true.

One review said stylistically it was a 5/5, but a movie can't be judged on that alone. Stylistically DAD and AVTAK had it moments as well.

They carefully and methodically made the film they wanted.

Sween to further prove my point, consider for moment all of the Bond fans that came back to sing the praises of DAD after going to such an event. They weren't being discriminating or discerning they were along for the ride, thrilled to be there.

Right now, Jackman could do the next 3 Bond films and please most of the Bond fan world. Bale would be best choice but he won't do it most likely. Sony should hire a director with action film experience who understands a Bond film is based on escapism, not psyche driven violent themes of a disturbed Bond. Broccoli should take a nice trip around the world and stay away from watching other spy genre films to copy. Haggis and Forster should never be utilized again as well.

Ever think this Sisillius and Zorin are related to Broccoli maybe? The problem remains Craig will not come across well in OTT type action scenes for his forte is 'disturbia' in character acting. Once you try to make Craig an action hero(which is what Bond SHOULD be) he loses his appeal and even becomes a parody of himself and the past, which is against everything he and Eon wanted to do with their vision. Craig has had his 15 minutes of fame. For me, the last enjoyable Bond films were everything prior to the first 1/4 of DAD. The last 3/4 of DAD and CR and now TBM are a waste of time. What surprises me though are the ABUNDANCE of VERY BAD reviews of TBM. I never saw that coming but now the critics have woken up and called this experiment for what it is. Does ANYONE here now deny that QOS is nothing more than TBM? Eon would do well to hire ALL of the regular posters here who represent passionately BOTH sides of the fence and allow US to guide them in the 21st century to restore this franchise to it's greatness. Through our mutual exchanges, we would get it right. Are you listening Eon?
