Required as in Bond films would fall apart without all three of those elements? I disagree. When it comes to gadgets I prefer more low-key and plausible such as the briefcase in FRWL. As for Q and Moneypenny, I don't care given than Maxwell and Llewellyn were the only ones that were really good in the roles, but I'm welcoming anyone to play them as long as they're actually good. Bliss, Bond and Cleese were pretty unimpressive IMO.

If it is true though, sounds great. I am now genuinely excited to see the new Bond film. The review pretty much sums up what I am actually hoping for from QOS.

I've seen some dissing of Gemma Arterton(not on Bond boards of course :P)and the consensus is that she's not all that, Bond girl wise, and not nearly as pretty as Eva Green, plus she has some diva tendencies.I don't disagree.

It seems that many people are bored with the cinematic James Bond. So Eon have created a new spy series which has rejected many of the cinematic Bond traditions. Craig's Bond also owes little to Fleming's Bond (IMO).

Why couldn't Eon create a new spy series with Daniel Craig? It could be called Danger Casino and star Daniel Craig as MI6 agent Terry Alan. This latest opus could be called Danger Casino II.

In the meantime, someone could make a James Bond film for people who like the cinematic James Bond and the James Bond character.

Why didn't Cubby & Saltzman just make a new spy series in the 70s with Roger Moore instead of turning James Bond into a children's Saturday morning cartoon program? Therefore they could have still made real Bond films and no one would've have had to wait for 1987 and then wait again 19 years for 2006.

I don't really understand it when people lump Bond into categories too strictly. I love OHMSS and Timothy Dalton and hate Daniel Craig playing Bond. According to the laws of Bond nerds I should love Craig. He's just not Bond to me. Someone said on Cbn once that Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton & Brosnan were, to varying degrees, the Lords Of the Manor to Craig's handy man in the potting shed. That's how I feel. Q could easily be used again. Look at Morgan Freeman in The Dark Knight.

I'll wait for the Vesper affair to play itself out, and hope for something vaguely watchable in Bond 23.

I think Gemma is shaping up to be another Mary Goodnight. She'll always have a place in my heart though for the 'shoe lift incident'.

The UK'ers will see TBM 2 full weeks before it's release in the USA. I wonder if that ever happened before? It seems strange that with Potter out, the UK still will see TBM that far ahead. You guys will be the front runners of the critics. Let us know your opinions. It might even influence us as to whether or not we here rush off to see it. Bootleg DVDs will probably be all over the USA by the time TBM debuts here so we may not even have to shell out any money to see it in theatres. Eon won't like that.

It's also interesting that EON grabbed had QOS set for Nov 7th for both the UK and US yet set the former a week earlier and the latter a week later. I don't think there's been such a gap since GOLDFINGER and that was released in the UK on September and then on wide release in the US in January.

The gap will be quite interesting. The 'word' will be out 14 days before TBM opens here in the USA. That is plenty of time for the bootleggers to do their bidding.

What does everyone think about Coke Zero appearing in POS? Bond's already not exactly a he-man as played by Craig..Why give credence to that by having him drink such a wussy drink? :P

Anything for a buck Katied, that is Eon's theme. If Pampers approached Eon to sponsor their product, I am sure they could incorporate that too into a script.

^Ain't that the truth :P

Just look at the way Babs Broccoli is running EON(badly). The fact that they're pimping non-Bond stuff such as diet soda says a lot.
