Is it just me or does Jacob look like the bond in 007 first light?

I don't think he looks that much like him, but both of them look more like Bond than Craig does.

Yes, those two were great. Agent Under Fire and Nightfire were also pretty good.

If the Hitman series is any indication, First Light will likely receive a lot of dlc outfits inspired by the films. Which begs the question: Did the Craig era actually contribute anything truly iconic to the franchise? Villains, henchmen, etc? Most of the outfits First Light currently has lined up could just as easily be a reference to the classic era, as the Craig films inexplicably kept ripping them off. (Despite the fact the filmmakers were constantly suggesting they were relics of the past!)

I forgot about nightfire. Great game. Agent under fire I don’t remember well enough to have an opinion. I wonder if they’re on steam.

IMHO the bond franchise including books, games and other tie ins lost momentum from 2006 on. Brosnan’s era lasted until about 2004. It was rich with decent bond related products and fan efforts like the string Quartet group bond.
It didn’t just dry up overnight. Inspiration was lost slowly. It just petered out little bit at a time. The Games became less interesting and fewer offerings. The book series struggled to find a voice.
It’s not all Bab’s fault but she kind of led the way. She just was not a good producer. Her movies gave away the ground cinematically her father fought for. She started copying other spy series and even Batman. She got critical acclaim. But really was not doing her own thing just copying and pasting other popular franchisees at the time. Cubby and his wife made it look easy or maybe Babs wanted to do something different because that was her parents deal and she been in it all her life, who knows

You might be right. Overall archetype is probably the somewhat similar, but I’m probably reading the pattern where there’s not one because it’s different from the Craig nubond look which was way off.

It wasn't as good as GoldenEye or the titles which followed (when EA began making an effort to duplicate the feel of the movies) but was generally considered to be a good Bond game. It was originally meant to be a delayed PC port of The World is Not Enough but the extra time allowed them to transform it into something original.

Sam Heughan famously auditioned for the role of James Bond prior to Daniel Cr-egg's casting in Casino Royale, with the actor now recalling that he - allegedly - wasn't "charismatic enough. It was all top secret. The Bond people took me up to their boardroom, the casting director was there, [producer] Barbara Broccoli was there, Martin Campbell, the director, was there," recalled Heughan. "There was a golden gun on the table, and they told me to do the scene there and then. It was very, very odd" he continued.---------but Broccoli thought Cr-egg had charisma?! WHAT?! Image

Oh yeah there were several other actors who weren’t charismatic enough or handsome enough to pull the role off. Hugh Hackman was to fay. anyone who was not Craig didn’t measure up

You may be right. However, I remember seeing a story about everyone that Babs turned down and her reason was that Jack wasn’t good enough was too fay. You my be right but , I don’t know if he was ever actually was offered the role.

At one time, I would have posted this story in my Wessex Bond news thread, but I'm not sure anyone reads any thread other than this one any more: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgz8ry14z3o

Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM’s head of film, explained: “I know you’re all wondering when we’re going to announce who’s playing James Bond. Don’t get too excited. Please know that we’re taking the time to do this with care and deep respect. It is the dream of a lifetime for all of us to bring audiences this next chapter, and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.” She added: “What I can tell you is this: when you pair one of the most beloved franchises in history with a world-class film-making team, including the brilliant director Denis Villeneuve, extraordinary producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, executive producer Tanya Lapointe and screenwriter Steven Knight, you’re setting the stage for something that’s truly worthy of the Bond legacy. That film is coming, and WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, we’ll have much more to share.”

A subtle nod to James Bond’s bisexuality almost didn’t make it into SKYFALL. His line to Silva, “What makes you think this is my first time?” was nearly cut, but Barbara Broccoli fought to keep it. Sam Mendes called it a “homoerotic undertow.” -----you see what Broccoli's priorities were for the franchise. Image
