Hopefully you'll only have to do that once.

To Omega's point yeah the games fell off a cliff during the Craig years, too many slap dash cash grabs, go figure for the Craig era. The new one is a hard one to nail down, the positive is it's made by the company behind the wildly popular Hitman games and it had a lot of buzz leading up to release, then game play was previewed.

First and foremost, Hitman was a wide open sandbox giving infinite options of approach to accomplish the missions, whereas Bond looks to be far more linear and "on rails" by comparison.

Next we have an origin storyline which nobody really wants from Bond, not on film not anywhere.

Also I've seen much made about the characters and complaints about "forced diversity" in the, what would you call it for a video game, casting? Look this complaint is not mine, but it seemed to be the only discussion about the game for awhile. I can't say that bodes well for it.
I’d be more excited if it wasn’t an origins story. Unfortunately for bond origin stories have been done to death.
I may give the game a try but I don’t see the $300 price tag for collectors edition .

I'm the wrong person to ask about games. My gaming knowledge is mostly confined to the 8-bit era.

Locking BJ out of his own thread,to say nothing of the forums, would NOT be a good thing.

Indeed. I'm glad he wasn't locked out permanently, as I wouldn’t have a clue how to let him back in.

I never understood the point of attacking this place or any other small website. They are using enough bots to crush Amazon. It’s overkill.

Maybe the point isn’t the small websites but the bigger servers that host them.

Maybe it is the Iranians, they were supposed to have a good cyber squad.

Do we know who CURRENTLY owns this marvelous website after 19 years? Remember years back when 50 pages were lost to this thread due to some malicious activities or server malfunction? MP, what happened to all of your old posts that required you to change your name years ago here? NASH might be screwing around here if he has knowledge of computer malware.

Still Goldeneye. He posted here a couple of times when you were away. And I doubt Nash is behind these bot attacks. Many of the spam posts are in Russian.

He still reads here from time to time-he’s said as such. *waves* I doubt being banned from posting would stop him from checking in.

But a hacker?Nah.

Could I be wrong?Sure. But he was able to get back in for a time during(after?) a time out after one of his temper tantrums. Then got banned for good,IIRC.

Jacob Elordi in “Pole Position” for James Bond, Multiple Sources Say

As far as who will play James Bond, you have all these rumors linking numerous actors, especially Callum Turner, but I am absolutely sticking with my 10.01.25 story, and bet that it’s Jacob Elordi’s gig to lose.

The Elordi mention came from a very well-placed source telling me Amazon/MGM was quietly pushing for him to be the next Bond, though no formal offer has been sent out, and that Elordi was likely to have a screen test in 2026 — the usual tuxedo fitting and action scene.

As far as I know, this was the first time Elordi had been mentioned as a serious contender, but since then you’ve had some interesting signs pointing in his direction, including Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman, a journalist with decades of work to back him up, reporting that Elordi has had meetings with Bond producers, Amazon/MGM, and director Denis Villeneuve.

Now, we have Marina Hyde, writer for The Guardian, on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, saying she’s heard from multiple sources that Elordi is in “pole position” to be the new James Bond.

Villeneuve is expected to have a say in the matter, and so far there’s been no indication of pushback on his part in terms of Elordi’s casting. According to Deadline’s Justin Kroll, a final decision is supposed to be made on the next 007 actor in mid-2026. If he gets the job, Elordi would be the youngest 007 ever, which does align with previous reports that Amazon was looking for a young Bond to reboot the franchise.

Elordi could be a natural fit for 007, a character that requires the looks but also a certain detached coldness, which Elordi has. He also has an imposing frame and a natural air of detachment that aligns with Ian Fleming’s colder, more ruthless 007. His performances have shown Elordi can balance charm with menace — exactly the duality required of James Bond.

As ever, I'll believe it when it's officially announced, and not before.

I’ll get excited once they announce the casting.
One weird phrase from that, I can’t see it as I’m posting , was something like “Amazon/MGM are pushing for”
Who are the pushing against? or trying to convince? Investors? The director? Babs?
It’s worded like the old days where the studio would push for an actor and Babs would nix it. Amazon/mgm should have the final word on who ever they want to cast as 007.
That’s the only suspicious thing that caught my eye.

This one seems more plausible than most, citing credible sources instead of the usual unnamed "insiders". But the Aaron Taylor-Johnson stories from a couple of years ago sounded plausible too.
