One of them being Craig’s Othello. She has helped secure financing and will be producing.

Broccoli produced Craig’s stage version with David Oyelowo as Othello and Craig played Iago.

He has now been setting up the film version of this which would take place in an army barracks (like the stage play), and they will shoot this in the Middle East.

No idea if Mr. Oyelowo will be returning as the title character.

Both of Kim Sherwood’s “Double O” novels are masterclasses in world-building. The Double O section is now headed by Moneypenny, who, in this version of the timeline, rose through the ranks with Bond. A male version of M still oversees the Secret Service in general, but he’s a kindly grandfather figure who Sherwood says she modeled on Patrick Stewart. Meanwhile, the gadget expert “Q” (most recently played by Ben Whishaw in the films) is essentially an AI in this version, a quantum computer that assists MI6 with various intelligence gathering and tech problems. https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/k ... bond-canon

I’ve never been able to get into any continuation novels, outside of Colonel Sun and the excellent James Bond authorized biography by John Pearson (love, love, love this book. Never gets boring or old).

I couldn’t get through Gardner’s output (after a while, the stories and double crosses all started to meld; although I find Icebreaker memorable).

I’ve given up on the continuation novels. Apart from CS and the biography, the other books feel like thrillers with a character names James Bond.

I suppose these Sherwood books may be of interest because James Bond doesn’t feature in them, is that right? Hes gone missing, and a crew of double-O agents are searching for him?…

Considering her "success" rate on her non-Bond projects she'd be better off sticking to the Candy Crush.

To be fair, you can't really go far wrong with Shakespeare, at least the best-known plays. The reason The Scottish Play was said to be unlucky is that repertory companies would reel it out as a last resort if their fortunes were on the slide, as it's pretty much guaranteed to put bums on seats.

As for Othello, it ran for a month back in 2016 and apparently made some money, but of course how much of that was down to Craig being the current Bond? And to the point of our discussion I don't think EON was involved, will this film version finally make EON some non-Bond money? Eh...

Yes EoN was involved in both productions (Othello and MacBeth). Sam Gold was also the director of both, and his name (as one of the premiere stage directors), combined with Craig’s involvement saw great box office and strong reviews, with MacBeth having a few more mixed, than Othello, but MacBeth brought in more dollars.

Saying that, both made killer ticket sales.
