Bad news for Babbzy. According to this article, the Oscars are moving beyond the sort of middlebrow porridge that she aspires to turn Bond into:

Today is also The Sweeney's 15th anniversary! Yesterday was the 15th anniversary here for James, Carl, and Blowfeld (who has checked out any way since 2020). Tomorrow is Skywalker's 15th as well! This is a historic week for this forum's inception so it is time to party and celebrate :!: :NewYears:  :yay: :happybd:
I swear I must think about Sweeney at least once a day..he was here giving us his opinion of NTTD but he’s one I would like to see more of.

I had a search on Google for 2005. I found this article from April announcing that Craig was the favourite.

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2005/a ... sbond.news

There is this one from March with some odd candidates!

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/ar ... nd/303733/
Very forgotten Sam worthington said he was signed 2005 and sent to boot camp to become familiar with handling guns and be more authentic to play bond. I think at best he was a backup like so many others signed for insurance or production reasons never to be used. T

As I remember the sequence of events Babs decided on Craig early on. Probably my late 2004 after layer cake was sent to her by mgm who wanted the director for bond 21.

It murky about the true history as it was reported at the time, some had it as a late choice with the studio finally relenting, but Craig at one point said he hit the gym for a year after he was signed a year before the announcement. Also Right before the official announcement Media tricked Craig’s mom in to telling them by phoning her home and asking questions like it was common knowledge.

I wanna say it started to leak Craig was Babs choice about March April 2005, backlash started immediately with the pierce brosnans fans being first to complain. Craig practiced checking in to hotels as jimmy bond, read a paper back of casino royale on the subway or something . At the same time Babs told the crew brosnan was in negotiations and they should have seen the what happened when roger Moore and her father had negotiations in between movies.
Judy Dench came out to reassure fans brosnan would be back.
The regular cast from dad was kept in limbo turning down jobs to be ready for bond 21 .
Supposedly they were in talks with brosnan, but in bad faith because they had already decided on his replacement. Some say the never got back with brosnan at all.
Somewhere along the way Craig ambushes brosnan at a party tells brosnan the he(Craig ) has signed to be bond, this was Craig’s “brosnan gave me his blessing “ story, once or twice he admits he gave little option for brosnan to do anything but congratulate and encourage him because it was a public party. (Btw Craig had a awful rep in the business as being a role thief, doing sneaky things to steal roles he wasn’t first choice for, that’s what Hugh Hackman and a few others had said in off hand comments often adding he was much nicer than they thought when they met him years later,

A month or two before the official announcement of Craig sony picture heads ask brosnan to come back for bond 21, he says it’s not up to him and Babs had to make the decision

Then after the fallout of the official announcement the Sony pr machine drag brosnan through the mud and basically the series before. Eon lies using gbp instead of usd to claim cr is a back to basic low budget bond and brosnan was too greedy so they had to change.
Brosana stays on bad terms with eon until 2012 when they pay him to promoted the 50th bond Blu-ray’s

Far as Craig went his boat launch announcement was bad, his first on set pictures were equally bad, eon kept trying different makeup and facial expression until finally landing on spray tan and po face with short hair trying to ape Steve McQueen. The rest is history with Babs dragging out the movies so long mgm when under twice then finally sold out

From wrestling to acting seems to be a popular venue for untalented actors to take and use their fan bases to get hired into films. He is a horrible actor.

Red Notice seems like a movie I'd really enjoy but I cannot bring myself to watch it because of The Rock. There are some actors that just put me off of watching any movie they are in. He's one of them.

I agree 100% V :!: Dwayne (no-talent) Johnson is not watchable, nor is Cr-egg.

Deborah del Mastro presents “The Bond Experience,” an evening of theme songs, trivia and inside stories from the film adventures of Agent 007, Feb. 20 at the Cinnabar Theater in Petaluma. https://cinnabartheater.org/show/thejam ... xperience/ Image It is only a 'short' 530 mile drive from MP's location. I wonder if FBF will attend as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHGe4It4PKM

Ladbrokes told Express Online: "Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It's Superman who now leads the way in the James Bond betting, with Henry Cavill finally leapfrogging long-time favourite Rege-Jean Page in the race to replace Daniel Craig."-------Broccoli could finance her next film by having someone she knows place a HUGE bet for her in secret as to who the next Bond will be as SHE is the ONLY one who will decide it, unless Bezos himself gets involved.

Yeah, I'm staying indoors tomorrow. I lived in coastal South Carolina for a time, and this is nothing compared to hurricane season there.

Express Online is constantly trying to make "bookies' odds change" into a news story. They do the same thing with Doctor Who. It's basically meaningless unless there's a sudden surge of bets on one person when a casting announcement is imminent.

That's my point exactly, which is why I wonder how this is legal, as it's so easy to fix?

On the suggestion of a friend, I watched Being James Bond. Our fearless Leader, DB catches much shade from DC, Babz and Michael Wilson regarding initial reaction to Craig. It would seem Dirty Benny owns space in the heads of Eon. Cheers, my good man.

I'm not sure it is legal. But if it does happen, it will be in the few days before an announcement is made, so probably not yet. Express Online is a clickbait site, they've been running basically the same story for years, with only the names changing. If candidate A becomes the bookies' favourite and candidate B drops to second place, it doesn't mean that candidate A has "overtaken" candidate B, because bookies don't have any say in the casting process. In fact, ISTR one of them admitting that they don't really know anything about calculating odds for non-sporting events. It's all just guesswork.
