No, it's what David Letterman famously kept calling him by mistake when the Craggster appeared on his chat show prior to Casino Royale's release. To be fair to Letterman he obviously had no idea who Daniel Craig was. It was a great interview though. Craig looked like he wanted to scratch his arse at one point and had a slight look of fear in his eyes similar to the one Phil Jupitus gets when someone points a camera at him and expects him to be funny

Good thing the film was more successful than that interview.

He's been on late night telly a lot with Glastonbury so perhaps that explains why I suddenly had a random dig at Mr Jupitus. People think I'm strange for laughing at On The Buses. Get that bus out! I 'ate you Butler!

I don't need to mention Brosnan, CR and Craig's success as Bond speaks for itself. However, since you brought him up, I'm sure this was Brosnan's reaction when the producers didn't offer him a fifth film, as if he thought he was cinematic gold for them. He thought wrong!

No, he was correct. His Bond films performed consistently well at the box office, and rescued the franchise from its decade-long decline in the 80s.

Tell me if you think "CrEGG" looks like a handsome rookie in the trailer with his disgraceful haircut and aged skin and unkempt look?

Crackhouse update:Apparently she's getting her own wax likeness at Madame Tussauds.Apparently they don't care that she is a junkie and that she'll probably be dead by the time they're finished with her statue(but some rabid Amy Crackhouse fan will buy it when they put it up for auction for an obscene amount of money :? )

I don't know who this "CrEGG" character you mention looks like but I can tell you that Craig looks like a handsome guy, but that's my opinion of course. You can't compare him to Brosnan, they're different types of handsome. Brosnan is the pretty boy type while Craig is the ruggedly handsome type. The ladies don't complain (unless of course he has that terrible hair style in The Invasion).

Image
Unconventional looks? Probably for Modern Hollywood standards, but that doesn't take away the fact that there are plenty of ladies who oogle at him. Ultimately it isn't the looks that win the girls over, it's the charisma. Whether you agree with that or not, a lot of people recognized it.

Charisma and Daniel Craig are polar opposites! In fact, he has the LEAST amount of charisma over any of the Bonds and you cannot even understand one complete sentence out of his mumbling, garbled, speech patterns.

And many others. Charisma=box office gold. Where is it, outside of Bond then? It is quite obvious that Eon has totally 100% abandoned the franchise as it was. Even replacing his traditional guns with a bazooka type rifle, and fight scenes with switchblade knives vs. intellectually stimulating gadgets, with an actor's look that is so foreign to any long time fan of the films, all demonstrate Broccoli's systematic destruction of Cubby's universe into one of her own ridiculous copycat genres. This may be enjoyed by many Craig fans, but this is NOT a James Bond film.

Charisma=box office gold.
And Craig certain provided that given the results. :wink:

Give me fist/knife fights on the level of early Connery over the Moore/Brosnan gadget totting Bond anyday!

He proved the exact OPPOSITE of that outside of Bond, as I stated. Charisma would carry over to other films. His other films ALL tanked.

So did Brosnan's, Dalton's, Lazenby's, Moore's and pre-Untouchables Connery.

And why is it, outside of the smaller Bond websites like this one, the main ones, containing the majority of BOND FANS (not Craig fans) all think Craig is the best thing since sliced bread? Are you telling me that before 2006, when everyone was registered as Bond fans on the various websites, and before Craig was chosen as Bond, they were all desperate, secret, closet Craig fans, in disguise as Bond fans...????

I've finally seen the trailer for QoS. Very uninspired on the whole. The thirteen year old fanboys who think that James Bond is supposed to be a lunatic action meathead who spends most of his spare time in the gym will lap this up. Anyone who enjoyed the sense of style and panache that gave the series its own sense of identity would be hard pressed to distinguish this nonsense from any number of other action films. Is the iconic image of James Bond now reduced to DC carrying a machine gun that is bigger than him? Fascinating.
