He was young too. Died peacefully or whatever they said. 53 year olds can drop dead, but it sounds so suspicious.
I didn't realize it but Elvis died very young too, 42. I grew up after he died never got the Elvis mania, all the fat Elvis jokes stuff like that never dawned on me that he died so young.

This was the first place I heard the news. I suppose it's a sign of the times that my first instinct was to check it wasn't a hoax.

Elvis ballooned in weight with drug related intestinal issues at 42. His mother died at 46 :!: After her death, Elvis' life faltered downhill. Drugs wrecked him. I wonder if they will release toxicology results on Carrie Fisher and George Michael? Drugs are always suspected, ala Elvis, Prince, etc.

I know that Carrie Fisher has a history of substance abuse. I thought she was clean now, but she could have relapsed. Prince used to be famously abstemious when it came to drink and drugs, but that was 30 years ago.

Carrie fisher is still alive, while iher heart attack or whatever it was some describe it in different terms shocked I was not surprised because because of her hard drug use history.
Sometimes it's damage 30 years earlier coming back to get them finically. Mark Hamill had a history or drug abuse to although maybe not like Carrie Fishers

The moronic media is referring to Fisher as "iconic" and Hollywood "royalty". What? Based on Star Wars 40 years ago?

I suppose the "royalty" thing comes from her being part of a showbiz dynasty. And whilst I too chafe at the overuse of the word "iconic", I don't think it's unfair to use it to describe a leading player in one of the most popular films of all time.

Poor Elvis was addicted to prescription drugs. It's a shame that he was made to do those Las Vegas concerts instead of doing other things around the world.

The Colonel restricted his ability to do other other things. Elvis hated the movies he did. He wanted to do the remake of A Star Is Born but Colonel Parker wanted Elvis to get top billing so it was not done with him.

I am not surprised. Once someone stops breathing for 10 minutes and CPR is required it does not bode well.---------The star’s substance abuse problem was well-known, starting at only age 13 when she first started smoking marijuana, Fisher previously told The Telegraph. She said she later dabbled in drugs like cocaine and LSD. Fisher’s addiction was largely profiled in her 1987 best-selling, semi-autobiographical novel, Postcards from the Edge, which was later turned into a movie starring Meryl Streep.

It's not surprising given her history but it's still a shock to have a Star Wars childhood memory die.

And now Richard Adams (Watership Down) too, though he at least lived to a ripe old age.
