Aidan Turner is the brand new red-hot favourite to become the next 007 with Ladbrokes

In the last 24 hours an unprecedented gamble has taken place on the Poldark actor replacing Daniel Craig in the British Secret Service, and his odds have crashed into just even money from 4/1.

Tom Hiddleston is now left to sit in second spot at 11/10 followed by Tom Hardy at 6/1. It’s double figures apiece that Idris Elba (10/1) or Henry Cavill (14/1) start their new career as James Bond.

The bookies rate it a 12/1 shot any female actress is named as the spy rather than the traditional male actor.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Turner’s shaking and stirring up the next Bond market and we now have our sixth different favourite. Money’s pouring in and should it continue it won’t be long before he’s odds-on.”

Ladbrokes latest betting

Aidan Turner Evens
Tom Hiddleston 11/10
Tom Hardy 6/1
Idris Elba 10/1
Henry Cavill 14/1
Damian Lewis 16/1
Michael Fassbender 20/1
Jack O’Connell 20/1
Oliver Jackson-Cohen 25/1
33/1 bar
As long as Babs remains, there shall be a DC Bond Demolition Night (aka Order 66). Either you're in or a minion.
We can have BOTH the DC demolition night AND celebrate Turner IF Broccoli shows intelligence and signs him up for a decade. FBF, Turner has a combo look of a Dalton and Brosnan hybrid appearance and he will get the roles Pierce SHOULD have had so you can turn your disdain for Broccoli into exuberant joy for a Brosnan-like 7th 007 :!: IF SHE chooses him, I will return to the theaters to see Aidan's Bond films. So let it be written-----so let it be done :!: When Cr-egg is vanquished by Turner, we shall all sing this song from our worldwide rooftops as loud as we can, as we smash all of Cr-egg's Bond's films at the same time:

As long as Babs is around, I won't bother. She's NOT taking my money. I don't trust her. DC Demolition Night is all I can do, and I will boycott anything post-Brosnan.

You will join in on the fun IF Broccoli does the correct thing and picks Turner and she atones for her sins against Brosnan with a perfect choice as a new Bond. We need you aboard. IF she picks Hiddelston, I will join you in executing Order 66.

No no no no no NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Babs committed the most heinous and unforgivable crime. You know I can't do this. I WILL NEVER give that b1tch a second chance. Turner will make a fine Bond, no doubt about that, but I will not support anything post-Brosnan under Babs' name on them.
IF she picks Hiddelston, I will join you in executing Order 66.
Are you saying you will not participate in the destruction of DC Bonds if Turner is Bond?

I'm gonna call shenanigans, the article also claims the next film will be out this February, and anyone who knows EON knows just how unlikely that is!

I think you're right. I didn't notice the date until after I'd posted it, but the story is a few days old, and nobody else seems to have reported it. File under clickbait.

I'm almost sure this is a stunt or hoax . Only other story I can find be about him talks about him being rumored as being considered. I can't imagine a private press conference being kept secret.

But then again people knew for w fact Craig was going to get the riel despite Judy dench saying pierce would be back or babs supposedly telling crew you should have seen the fights my dad had with Moore about retuning to bond. It's obvious the fix was in when Craig said he went to the gym for a year when he got the job, which was a few months before filming.

Clickbait! And we didn't think of it first! (facepalm!)
I would put this casting up there with Robert Pattinson. Someone from a popular teen oriented franchise.

I thought about him ever since I saw him in that Hugo Boss commercial. I find him VERY handsome. But I don't think he is in the run and Cavill and Turner are better suited for the part when it comes to the looks. I am team Cavill and team Turner anyway.

Turner or Cavill is the choice now, as far as I am concerned Veronica. The rest make no sense. Jackman was available in 2005. Broccoli delivered Cr-egg. Cavill and Turner are available in 2016. Who, if any, will she choose, or will she keep 48 year old Cr-egg forever and give him $200 million for 2 films?

According to Broccoli Jackman was to "fey", obviously the man who inhabits the character of the Wolverine for 16 years (much as Connery inhabited the role of Bond) is unable to play a tough guy attracted to females. As for Broccoli's bigoted views I'm surprised she was never denounced for such BS reason to deny any person a job. I don't care if the actors playing whatever role maybe are gay or not as long as the play the role as it was intended.

The irony is not lost on me how Babzy can denounce an actor as a bit too "light in the loafers" to play Bond, then turn around and spend the next decade emasculating and "gaying up" the character!

add to the mix Craig had a gay following before CR and became a gay icon after. Then all the torture scenes in the following movies.
