Capaldi rocks, I'm so glad that he was chosen to be the doctor (I also like his assisant clara (in some ways and she would've made a great bond girl, Jenna Coleman (she's also pretty hot too but anyway back to the topic at hand and again awesome parachute).
The latest in a growing line of Bond/Who connections/references
Following his stirring speech in the last episode, Capaldi is now officially one of my favourite Doctors.
I think it's quite good. Thanks to Sam Mendes, Thomas Newman will probably be the producer's first choice to score a Bond movie, from now on.
doubtful since his score for sp is almost universally panned. This is eon we are talking about They couldn't even make a movie without P&W helping write the script. They also brought Arnold back for bond 50th stuff instead of using Newman so I'm not so sure eon is as sold on him as you want to think
Is Spectre doing better than Skyfall at the UK box office? That very much depends on what you choose to measure. In terms of gross so far, Spectre is ahead of its predecessor, with £64.0m after 14 days, compared to £61.6m for Skyfall at the same stage of its run. But if you measure momentum, it’s a different story. Skyfall fell just 20% in its second frame. For Spectre, that number is 34%.
EW.com: It is silly that James Bond was a childhood friend-brother to Franz Oberhauser a.k.a. Blofeld, and it’s silly that Oberhauser killed his father and faked his own death and changed his name to Blofeld and became the most evil man alive. Nothing that happens in Spectre holds up to even minor logical scrutiny. (Bond sets off on his mission because M leaves him a video with, basically, this instruction: “Kill this random guy and go to his funeral.”) The logic stuff wouldn’t matter in a lighthearted movie, but Spectre keeps filtering in psychodrama and Snowden-era paranoia. It’s like watching an episode of DuckTales about the financial crisis.

The plot of Spectre is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.

I'm sure everyone knows my opinion on this ridiculous travesty of a plot by now, as I've been moaning nonstop about it, but it deserves every word! Even if this had been a fantastic film in all other regards, this plot murders anything positive that may have been.

I'd second Jenna Colman in Bond , although after DC moves on so I can watch it.

Well yeah when someone who looks the role takes part, she could also play an evil femme fatale pretty well too (good or bad as long as she's in it ).
Dalton Toothpaste: Yeah that speech was brilliant, Capaldi really carried himself with that speech, I hope he will stay on doctor who for a long time to come.

If fans can constantly beat a dead horse about little gags like the Tarzan yell, slide whistle, double taking pigeon, etc. for years now, then it shouldn't be a problem to bash this plot twist that is far more stupid and permanent, in my opinion.
That "It was me all along, Austin!" clip in MovieBob's Spectre review sums up the film in a nutshell.
yes sir Saint, the Tarzan yell, slide whistle, and double taking pigeon are by far the least of this franchise's sin's at this point! Long live Sir Roger!!!!!!!

Having seen the movie, I can confirm the soundtrack is bland. Newman actually reused pieces of his Skyfall soundtrack. Some critics have also pointed this out. Now it makes sense why the trailer used parts of the OHMSS soundtrack. Newman probably was pressed for so much time that he didn't even have a complete score when they pieced together that trailer. In fact, the whole film has that feel to it, like it was just a slapdash thing. But the score itself is completely unmemorable. There are way better film composers than this Newman clown. Once Mendes goes, it won't surprise me if Eon finds someone else.
I think Newman was only used because Mendes always uses him. Some directors have composers they always work with: Steven Spielberg and John Williams, Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti etc. I think provided Mendes keeps his word about not doing another one, they'll either bring back David Arnold or use someone else.
"He's the one that doesn't smile" - Queen Elizabeth II on Daniel Craig
I'm surprised their emphasizing this review. They tend to be Bond fans over there, typically posting positive things about the franchise (at least the links I've seen in the past tend to have that tone).

Exactly. Newman scored other Mendes films. Mendes doesn't strike me as a "musical" director, and he doesn't have a good feel for how a Bond film needs to be scored. Newman is the same thing, to me.
Boxoffice.com is NOW predicting the Peanuts movie will top ECH-TRE this weekend in the USA ------The Peanuts Movie Nov 6, 2015 Fox $30,000,000
Spectre Nov 6, 2015 Sony / Columbia $29,500,000 -------They have it close to my projection of $28 million..........If they are correct, and we hope they are, it's all over for Cr-egg and Broccoli's vision
