I don't know anything about this actor........except that i have seen him in a low budget horror movie called 'The Guest', not so long ago!
Never heard of him either. If I were his agent I would place two substantial bets on him being the next 007 and watch the papers go nuts.

No wait. I do know him; Night at the Museum 3 The Quickening- Sir Lancelot. Immediate impression he might could pull 007 off. 6ft tall, has a sense of humour. Maybe too pretty, althou not my impression of him from the Night at the Museum.

I have heard the opening credits are a mess as well as the lacklustre song. I thought they would have gone with an instrumental by this point.
One thing i will say is that in recent times, the people behind the Bond films, have made some terrible choices for selecting the main Bond song.

What i can't get around is that there have been plenty of wonderful, more appropriate songs which have been submitted for these films but turned down.
Apparently from one of the song writers, who wrote a great song for QOS, but was turned down............commented that the film makers only pick a song if its from a well known name in the industry, coz they think it will sell more, and make them more money.

No, what you do is select the right song that fits in with the movie..........then this in turn will make people enjoy the film more, hence selling more tickets, plus the song will sell itself....making more money............but somehow the film makers don't understand this, and instead give us a crap product!

YOU USE A STRAW TO DRINK BEVERAGES: It’s not just the eyes that get wrinkly; if you purse your lips too much, it can cause premature wrinkles in that region. “This also occurs when smoking cigarettes,” says Janet Prystowsky, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York.

Sony offered $5 million for Bond to carry the phone, with an $18 million bid to be the exclusive vendor. Samsung offered the same $5 million deal for Bond, but beefed the total payment to $50 million. Both offers were rejected by Bond actor Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes, after judging the phones to be too lackluster for Bond. "Sam and Daniel don't like the Sony phone for the film," said president of worldwide business affairs Andrew Gumpert in an email that was scooped up in the Sony Pictures leak. "In their minds, the Sony phone is not the 'best'." It seems Mendes and Craig -- who received the first co-producer credit as James Bond -- had enough power to overrule the business folks at Eon Productions.---------- Craig has played Bond for 10 years now, but told Extra's Jerry Penacoli, "It seems about 20." Redbulliten.com: All your training has clearly paid off. How important is Bond’s physique to the movies?

DC: It’s an aesthetic choice. My female producer always makes sure I take off my shirt often enough.----------------Bond has actually become a bit more chivalrous in the most recent films, hasn’t he?

DC: That’s because we’ve surrounded him with very strong women who have no problem putting him in his place.

Babzy needn't worry about replacing Craig ever, now that they have the Craig mask! Any collection of stunt men can wear it, and no one would be the wiser, the acting would still be just as wooden, his face just as expressionless, and our beloved Craig can stay in the role for 50 more years!

TROLLY wrote: How many people thought Skyfall was crap? I being one of them!

Skyfall was the end for me, I tolerated CR and QOS as "one offs" because I bought in to the company line that Bond was "beginning" and the next film would feature a fully fleshed out Bond. SF was the straw that broke the camel's back, and SP will be the final nail in that camel's coffin.

Funny how that Sony phone still made it in to the film anyway!

Huge bet placed on little known actor to become the next James Bond

Sam Riley, best known for playing Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in Control, would net one punter a four-figure sum if named as the next 007. The gambler will have a return 'running into thousands of pounds' if Riley is named

The gambler wanted to place an even bigger wedge on Riley but William Hill fearing inside information limited his bet.

They immediately slashed Riley’s odds from 50/1 to 12/1.

The new James Bond film SPECTRE was released amid speculation that Daniel Craig will never play the lead role again.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “The average bet on the next James Bond is £8. Usually people put a fiver or a tenner or possibly £20 on. Sometimes it’s as a fun gift.

“But this was a substantially higher bet and we allowed the punter to put on 2/3 of what he wanted to place.

“If Riley is named as the new James Bond he will win a nice sum running into thousands of pounds.”

Riley, a public schoolboy who went to Uppingham, would prove an unlikely choice for the character.

But there is speculation producers are looking for a 21st century “geeky” type of character.

Married dad of one Riley, 35, is best known for playing Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis in the film Control back in 2007.
He has that "FLEMINGS BOND" look... :007:

Are you sure; you're not confusing that with the times he actually needed to do so.

I couldn't imagine that he tested anyone in between The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. What would have been the point in that.

Apologies if anyone already posted this, but it's down to 72% on RT now :)
In a number of key scenes, "Spectre" re-creates classic moments from past Bonds. Think of them as James Bond's Greatest Hits. Think of them also as signs Mendes and his writers have run out of fresh ideas.

Yes..........Michael Billington. was like the reserve 007 during the Seventies.........he did get a small role in TSWLM.

Billington was probably best known to audiences as Colonel Foster in the Gerry Anderson UFO....TV series...........which also starred none other than Ed Bishop, who also popped up in small roles in Bond films!

Maybe so. But what I'm saying is; Cubby Broccoli would only have had actors screen tested at times when it was necessary. Otherwise, what would've been the point?

Can you tell me precisely, when Michael Billington did all of these screen tests? I must say; that "5", does seem a little unlikely.

As he was given a part in TSWLM, I can only assume that he wasn't ever considered to replace Moore. Therefore, it can only have been pre-Live and Let Die.
